Lovely Chambre d'Hote in a 19th century farmhouse in the Cele River Valley just west of Figeac on the road to Cahors. Congenial hosts served homemade aperitifs on a terrace overlooking the peaceful countryside, and made both French and English speaking guests comfortable during a relaxed evening of good food and conversation. The optional dinner is well worth taking as the host is a wonderful cook. Go to bed with the smell of fresh bread baking below your charming room. Breakfast is included (brioches and bread with homemade jams and butter, juice, coffee and hot chocolate). We were lucky enough to get a room while passing by on the road, but our fellow guests (hikers following the nearby Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage trail) wisely booked well in advance. A delightful place and a great value. more
