This superb hotel (ex-kempinski) can only be described in superlatives. In this hotel, where management manages, everything is organised in a perfect way. It is super clean, well located, the staff is perfectly drilled (one should however take into account that we are in Africa and not in a 5 star hotel in Monte Carlo) and of utmost kindness. The... Melia Zanzibar is probably a nice stop on a safari trip but not worth 24 hours travel from Europe. First of all, you must remember that Zanzibar is in Africa. So don't dream about a "special" place. This is Africa with 7 electric black out a day, Internet on and off all week long (more off than on) and a... More

My wife and me had lucky to pass the ours days in this fantastic place. The meals was really good, the rooms really comfortable, the swimming pool fantastic, and of course the sea and views amazing, truly lux. A part of all of that was great cause César and the managers Ramon and Jose Antonio were caring us all the... More

The hotel rooms and bathrooms are really great but communication with the staff from the housekeeping to receptionists to the conceirge was a real issue. More

I had the opportunity to stay at Melia during their soft opening, and was thoroughly impressed with the revamping of the hotel. The staff are the shining jewel of this lovely hotel, taking every opportunity to be sure that our stay was comfortable, seamless and relaxing. Staff seemed to be able to predict your needs even before you know them... More

My family and I stayed at this resort for 3 nights this past winter break and we loved it, though we had some problems with the service. I'll start with the good- the location is outstanding. The pool is close by but the beach is a golf cart ride away (somewhat of a hassle) but worth it because the beach... More

We are a family of five and the hotel was perfect. We stayed in a villa and the rooms were amazing, extremely comfortable and the service excellent. The buffet meal service was great for the children as there was no waiting around. And there is a top class smaller restaurant for the more intimate occasion. Our butler, Kambi was so... More

I stayed at this hotel with my brother for 2 nights, after staying at the nearby Bluebay Resort and Spa. Whilst the rooms, food, location and hotel facilities were exceptional; we had an unfortunate episode where a hotel employee broke into our room and stole some of our valuables whilst we were at dinner on Christmas Eve. Having travelled to... More

My expectations of the hotel's quality and design were high, as this was until recently a Kempinski property, and the room size, layout, and facilities were indeed exquisite, with the massive bathroom including an outdoor tropical shower, an indoor shower with strong jets, and a Starck-ish soaking tub. There was good closet space and robes, and a view of the... More

This is a great piece of property, in a great location with a hard working staff that gives 110%. The location is spectacular and I'm glad I visited once to see it. But don't expect to listen to the ocean on the reef, or enjoy the warm tropical breeze and wind down. Unfortunately the management inflicts their version of "fun"... More
