Despite the mixed reviews we had read, we chose this hotel primarily because it offered locked parking (24/24) adjacent to the entrance, as we had read that parking and security in Bonifacio can be difficult. The location in the 'haute ville' is excellent. It also has larger rooms by the port, but be prepared for a major hike up to... More

There are only a few hotels in the center of Bonifacio, and Genovese is the best. It's in the middle of the city, so beaches are a drive. But you're able to walk to great restaruants in town (Stella D'oro is amazing). The rooms are above average. Not super fancy, but have a modern minimalist decor. But the view from... More

We spend 3 nights at the Hotel Genovese, which is a very nice, high end hotel in Bonifacio. The Genovese has 2 buildings with guest rooms, which are not particularly near each other. One is in the harbor where the larger more expensive rooms are. This building is detached and not part of the larger hotel, where all the services... More

We booked a double room for 4 nights in this hotel based on the nice internet site. In high season the rooms were 310 euro's and in sept it went back to 230 euro. We got room number 8. I honestly can tell you that in a two star hotel you find a better bathroom than in this exclusive hotel.... More

After 20 years of travel both business and personal I can definitely say this was a horrible experience. The staff, with the exception of Claire, was rude and did clearly have no education what so ever. The rooms were a shame for the money you had to pay. They were literally falling apart. the bathroom was the worst one ever.... More

The lobby and pool are quite stunning, and recently redone. The rooms? Not redone. But fine nonetheless. Staff are either great or just passable depending upon the shift one encounters. Skip the breakfast, there is NOTHING that can justify a 30 Euro per person price tag. In fact, try to avoid ordering anything from the bar or room service; given... More

The location of this hotel is absolutely beautiful. Amazing views over the town and the swimmingpool is unique. But this hotel is definitely lacking in atmosphere. When we arrived someone just gave us our roomkey and told us were to go; no walking with us or telling something about the hotel. Rooms are nice, but again could do with a... More

Hotel Le Genovese is one of those sedately beautiful hotels whose location is actually part of the mideval city walls. Our room had a huge terace, with a port view, which we had requested and paid more for. The unexpected bonus was that we also had quite a nice view of part of the haute ville (which is also the... The best that can be said about Hotel Genovese is that it is on a beautiful location. Apart from that, the hotel is mediocre. The exterior may look stylish, but the room I stayed in - a "chambre vue port" - was very basic. Not quite what one would expect judging from the website and the price range. More

I've been to the Genovese hotel with my partner and our little dog. We had one oh the suites overlooking the pool and the harbor. The room was nice and clean and staff at the reception was helpful and friendly although our French was poor. In the morning we had a delicious continental breakfast in our room. If we were... More
