Great location, great service, clean rooms... Think it's a great option if you're planning a trip to Cobán. More

Hotel Casa Duranta in Coban has a pleasant open inner courtyard and decent rooms with beds in them. That's about it. I can't speak to the other available options in Coban, not having tried them myself. Coban itself is not a very interesting place to visit anyway. Having stipulated to that, there aren't many reasons to choose to stay at... More

This is a lovely, clean hotel in a pretty good location in Coban. There is a beautiful courtyard and the rooms are nice and pretty spacious. Coban itself is nothing to write home about: there's nothing especially remarkable about the city except its function as a way station for tourists going to Semuc Champey. Skip the hotel restaurant, which I... More

Rooms are grouped around a lovely central courtyard garden. It's quiet and a 5 minute walk to the parque central. The place was deserted when we were there. Breakfasts were the basic tipico. Although they gave us a menu that indicated lunch and dinner are served as well, we never saw any sign of that. There are plenty of restaurant... More

3.5 stars for me. The rooms were nice and the garden was pretty. The service was generally very good with the exception of one girl. The location is great. I think the rooms could be about $10US cheaper a night for what you get. There is hot water and the rooms are clean. The breakfasts were very good (except the... More

Part of our Guatmalan tour included Coban. This is MUST city to be visited while in Guatemala, ans Casa Duranta is the the best here! Great rooms, clean and cozy. The whole architecture is impecable, everything here is impecable. The food was so much more than we expected. The weather here is perfect... not hot, not cold... The service was... More

The grounds were beautiful and quiet, the food was good and the staff was very helpful in making our travel arrangements to Semuc Champey. They also were helpful in changing our stay reservation when our plans changed. If I had anything negative to say, it would be that the bathroom was small, but very clean. More

This was the nicest place my girlfriend and I saw in Coban. The rooms were very clean with good, hot showers and comfortable beds. The breakfast (not included) was fine-- nothing spectacular, but definitely adequate and the hotel's owner was very helpful. Most of the hotel staff were also helpful, but one girl who seemed to be in charge during... More

It was ranked the best place to stay in Coban and it was immediately obvious. We did not wish to step out at all. The garden is very beautiful, with little wrought iron decoration to attract birds, hanging orchids etc. The room was love at first sight. Spacious, beautifullly decorated and common-sense furniture for us to hang our clothes. The... More
