• Front Desk Staff - some are not helpful, accommodating and friendly • we got left by the airport transfer bus cos they didn't call to inform / remind us that the shuttle is leaving at 11:30 going to the airport (but kuya (transpo head) find a way and the hotel van transfer us to the airport instead) • resort... Place : The place is huge, not attractive or fancy but huge and different from other hotels I've been too. I love the facade, the location, the possibility that it can accommodate a lot of guests and yet give that peaceful ambiance. It's inviting. When you get in the reception area you would want to try to stay at least... More

Great staff. They were very accommodating and we had everything we asked for immediately. Including antihistamine. ^_^ The rooms are huge and clean but they look outdated. FIR seriously needs to do some upgrading to deserve all those 5 stars. The resort is so huge, I got lost a couple of times. Was not alone though. I saw a number... More

Checking-in is a breeze. The place, the lobby, the gardens & lawns, the fountain, the mini zoo, the 3 swimming pools, the beach, the chinese food (from Red 8 restaurant) and the rest there is in Fort Ilocandia are GRAND! So peaceful and relaxing. All the comforts you can ask for is there. Checking-out is fast too. Complimentary transfer is... More

I should say that the the resort would be really a great if management would really refurbish the property. The grounds though are maintained, considering that the place is hot and humid. The rooms needs a lot of refurbishing and upgrading too. The kids enjoyed the dark black swimming pool and the olympic size pool was under maintenance during our... More

Fort Ilocandia is really showing it's age. The hotel rooms need renovation. The whole resort complex for that matter needs a major overhaul! It is too dark at night, with poorly lighted hallways. Food quality and presentation need a lot of work. For all it's downside, the resort complex has lots of potential, though, if current management can improve overall... More

Our family of four stayed at Fort Ilocandia for 3 days and 2 nights last April 5 and 6, 2012. The whole family enjoyed the trip regardless of the long trip that we had experienced..14 hours of travel from manila to Laoag due to many road construction and some stop overs. At the reception, the lobby area is bustling with... More

A reasonable hotel of about 3 star rating. Extensive grounds and gardens. Beach front is nice but the sand is black (volcanic) better to stay by the garden swimming pool. Rooms are basic and dated needing modernisation. Still one of the best hotels in the region as there is little competition. More

Fort Ilocandia may have once been a great hotel, but it is well past its prime. The hotel is huge and has extensive recreational amenities (ATVs, a miniature zoo, archery range, pool, etc) but everything feels run down. The room was nice and clean, however, and the staff I interacted with nice. The breakfast buffet was very average and served... More
