On check in, all the double rooms we booked turned out to be twins (travelling in a group of 5 couples). We were offered an upgrade (at cost) to other rooms which we took, and then found out that only one of the new rooms was a double. The person checking us in really didn't care or try to help.... The room was dirty, the bathroom with ants and frogs and stinky, sink didnt work, shower was leaking. Horrible breakfast which cost us 25.000kip each - better to eat in town. The stuff unfriendly. Far from the centre. Amazing view but u can get that in most hotels on town. Stay away!! More

Great location overlooking the Nam Song River. We had a riverside room which, apart from the usual hard beds, was more than adequate for our requirements. I stayed at Thavonsouk Bungalow one night on Dec.31 and loved it. This is my first time to Vang Vieng and stay here. The resort has a great location, overlookin the Nam Song river. The room is clear, large and quiet. Staffs are friendly. The only thing that should be better is breakfast and the room facilities. More

a beautiful peaceful riverside location with comfortable well equipped rooms.Especially if you take a bungalow by the river a ten GBP upgrade. London prices charged for a glass of wine but everything else is priced OK. Excellent food. But Vang Vieng !!! what a dump. More
