Whe visited Vilayvong in February 2012, and had a bungalow across the main building. The first bungalow we got had some wierd stains in the matress, so we got another bungalow. The bungalow itself was ok, clean and a good aircon. Across our bungalow they where building an expansion of the main builidng, there was a lot of building activity... More

Located close to the river and from a walking distance to the city center, this guesthouse offers rooms (in the main building) and bungalows. It's surrounded by construction sites, which can be a bit noisy. The bungalows are very very basic, very much in the backpacker spirit of the city, and they do not have a view to the mountains.... This place was perfect! Far enough away from the 'party' island to not hear anything, but walking distance from everywhere. We loved this place and would definitely stay again. AC, WiFi, mosquito nets, balcony with view of the river and TV (not that we used it). Also there was somebody there 24 hours day at the counter, so we felt... More

Stayed in an economy cottage for 3 nights. Would stay here again next time I'm in Vang Vieng. There were no problems with the room. It was clean, spacious enough, had a working A/C and hot shower. The cottage was very nice looking, both inside and out, and looked like it was built in the last few years. The location... More

After a disappointing night at the Elephant Crossing we found this guesthouse. Much cheaper, spacious room with balcony and view on the karst mountains. Room was spotlessly clean, very nice people at reception. Breakfast was a bit poor but sufficient (tea/coffee, toast). Indeed there are some building activities around the guesthouse but they did not wake us up :-) More

Very friendly reception staff who did all they could to help. Rooms were spacious and clean, and had lovely big balconies overlooking the magnificent Karst scenery with just a glimpse of the river. The hotel was south of the town, so a fairly quiet location, but within easy walking distance of the town. More

We stayed here for 2 nights in January 2012. We stayed in the main house with a riverside view. Unfortunately, the view is totally obstructed by trees and bungalows so it's impossible to see the river. The room was ok but not as expected from the photographs on Agoda. The building work taking place was an eyesore but this couldn't... More

I enjoyed my stay here but it was a little expensive. The cable tv included in the price does not have any English channels which isn't a huge problem given the amount of outdoor activities on offer. The aircon was good, rooms were clean and all rooms appear to have a balcony. The hotel is being extended but there was... More

After our excellent stay in Khamvongsa in Vientiane, we felt somewhat let down by Vilayvong, which charges the same price as Khamvongsa. Ongoing construction work flanked three sides of the hotel! Once the drilling and banging got underway, it became really noisy and I doubt anyone could sleep late. Luckily, we'd earlier on requested for a quiet room with a... More
