Travelled to Nkwichi Lodge via Nairobi, with my husband and three children aged 8, 15 and 17 years. We all absolutely loved the holiday. The location is stunning - isolated, beautiful and full of wonderful surprises. The local staff at the lodge are all charming and you feel that they are all very supportive of the project and keen to... More

We arrived quite late, and with a small baby and todler it was a bit of a hassle since the bathroom was on the outside and the lightning was very bad. But the friendly staff was very helpful and brought boiled water for making bottles and served dinner at the room. A cot and mozzie net was supplied for the... More

This place is amazing and the staff extremely kind, welcoming and doing their best to make your stay perfect. I highly recommend this piece of piradise for those who want to enjoy the Niassa Lake in a unspoiled environment and at the same time support a development and conservation project. Food is also quite good, so... what else?! More

We just spent four incredible days at Nkwichi Lodge. From the minute we arrived until the sad moment we had to board Miss Nkwichi to leave was absolutely awesome! The rooms were amazing with beautiful sunken baths under the stars. The service was outstanding from the morning teas lunches and dinners where ever we wanted them, on the beach, at... More

We went to Nkwichi for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The beach was idyllic, the lake beautiful and the chalet was spacious (loved the outside bathroom!). The staff were lovely, and the food was plentiful and really tasty. It probably suits people who want to be slightly more active on their beach holiday - we were encouraged to go... More

We had only 9 days after our wedding for our honeymoon, and despite the travel from Paris is a bit long (~24 hours to arrive), we knew after 5 minutes in the lodge that we had made the right choice, and the 7 following days fully confirmed this. To summarize briefly : you take a perfect nature area (white sand... More

Arrived in 13 small aircraft at Licoma island. Boats were waiting for us and an amazing trip over the lake to the lodge. What a surprise when we got there. The welcome by the staff, the amazing lunch, the campfire, dinner, the accommodation and beaches is out of this world. To walk out of your chalet to your bathroom, 20... More

When we booked our stay, the manager wrote back to us to say that "Nkwichi was even better in real life than in pictures". We thought this was a typical marketing phrase....but, not at all. The pictures on the website of this lodge are stunning but be prepared to be surprised. The place is of breathtaking beauty. Staff members -... More
