We stayed in Borana for 15 days, which I guess is in comparison to most of the people very long. We loved every single day, and we would not have liked to mis a single one, which was definately the result of the multiple ideas and offers, Flick the young and very professional manager, made to us. So most of... More

Borana is a fantastic lodge in a wonderful location but what makes it special are the people - the owners, the guides, the grooms, the lodge staff - all are focussed on making your stay as interesting and enjoyable as possible. We spent a full week there and felt sorry for those on more hectic schedules who were only spending... More

I recently had the delight of safari at Borana Lodge. It is a family ownedprivate conservancy and therefore the usual safari rules don't apply. I was able to hike with a group out to "pride Rock" the inspiration for the "Lion KIng". Each evening there is a sundowner trip to a different place where the beverages are delivered and your... This place is gloriously set in the middle of a huge park, which means you get lots of game coming near ( but at a safe distance ) to your glass windows the rooms are unbelivabley beautiful and are all made out of wood and thatch. The staff are amazingly kind and considerate in every matter especially Malawi and Albert... More

Borana is a wonderful place to visit: fabulous food, amazing game drives, great horseback rides, wonderful hospitality! One thing that makes this place special is that there are more opportunities to walk or run because it is on private land. This was my second trip there and I will go back. More

Hi Map54 Thank you so much for your review! Great to hear from you and we are delighted that you enjoyed Borana so much - because it's a private ranch, you have the wildlife but you also have the freedom to be as active as you like - the horseback riding, walking, moutain biking and more - and we are... For anyone thinking of going to Borana Lodge, think again. The owner of this lodge was completely out of control, threatening me and frankly scary to deal with. I came to this lodge from another place specifically for Wifi connection due to a health issue with my son and there was not one-second of any connection. I spent several hours... More

Hi 4halex, Thank you for your comments about Borana – we feel it’s only fair to put the record straight a little, as naturally we are really distressed by your feedback. You had checked out of you prior destination early, so Borana wasn’t on your original itinerary, which might mean that you hadn’t fully understood what the experience was all... More

We stayed for 5 fantastic nights as part of our honeymoon. Horseback safaris in the morning offered great horses matched to our needs and some enjoyable and yet easy riding. Then jeep safaris in the early evening provided us with some fantastic sightings of big game. Our own driver meant we were free to choose what we wanted to do... More

Thank you MSkotadis for your lovely comments about staying at Borana; five nights is a great length of time as you get the time to explore the ranch as well as neighbouring Lewa to see more wildlife and some of the endangered species such as rhino and Grevy's Zebra. Come back and see us again soon! The Borana Team More

Our family of 6 stayed at Borana Lodge in August and absolutely loved it. We began our safari trip here, and then went on to the Maasai Mara. The accommodations and hosting were superb. Sam and Flick were fantastic. Our rooms were without a doubt the nicest that we had in Kenya (although Ngare Serian was pretty close!) The game... More

Wow - thank you so much and we're really thrilled that you had such a good time at Borana! It's always so nice to hear about the things that made you enjoy Borana - we love taking people to Pride Rock, the inspiration behind Disney's own in Lion King, and looking out over the wilderness from there. Happy travels until... More

I absolutely adore Borana Lodge. My husband and I stayed in cottage #1, high up on the hillside with a view of nothing but the surrounding mountains and the wildlife upon them. The meals were absolutely delicious. The architecture delightful. Whether relaxing poolside or on one of the terraces there was always a drink or snack nearby. Sam and Flick... More

First of all, Flick and Sam are fab! I felt like I was at home! The location is amazing, the rooms + the views were stunning, food was top notch, and our guide, Alex, was smashing. On our drives we saw and learned so much. I highly recommend "sun downers" on pride rock too! As for the riding, it is... More
