I'm a travel counsellor who has been lucky enough to visit twice - and can't wait to get back! Last time I took 13 friends and clients with me. Other reviews describe the accommodations fairly but what you need to know is that the people really do make the difference! Sitting at the family table surrounded by SIlas and KArmusha... More

we were here in August, and it was a beautiful amazing place. Wilderness applies to the game drives and where Lewa is, but the lodges were anything but wilderness. Elegant spacious rooms; ours was right on the edge of the ravine, w/ our own personal grouping of hyrax right outside the window. Wonderful, interesting staff, really good people, great game... More

Our Hill room was very spacious and designed to take full advantage of the amazing views, outside was a comfortable private seating area shared with squirrels, hyrax, monkeys and the occasional passing lizard, in the valley below we could see Giraffe, Water Buck and Zebra. Inside the room was well laid out and comfortably appointed, with large bed, shower and... More

Wonderful setting. Because of a mobility problem we asked for accommodation near all the facilities. They gave us the perfect bungolow. A wonderfully positioned swimmimg pool with a great view and sunbathing area. All the staff were very well trained and our driver and spotter on the game drives were second to none. Of the 4 lodges we visited on... More

We are safari veterans and we have stayed in over 20 safari camps and lodges in Africa. Lewa Wilderness Trails is one of our all time favorites. It is pretty much perfect. We had a large, comfortable room with a great view. The service is fantastic and the staff is first class. The food was always excellent, whether it was... More

Lewa Wilderness was our second safari stop on our 13 day adventure to Kenya. We had begun our travels in the Chyulus Hills. Wilderness Trails is an amazing lodge in the Lewa Conservancy. Packed with wild life, Lewa is the happy home to an astonishing number of animal species. The lodge is really gorgeous -- thatched roofed cottages, some standing... More

Spent three days at Wilderness Trails. Superb guides (Kilai and Lari) and staff (Karmushu and Kate et al) made sure all our needs were met, even going beyond when I fell ill one evening. Beautiful location in the Lewa Conservancy. Took a night safari and had the wildlife highlight of my two weeks in Kenya: coming over a hill to... More

Accomodations are beautiful and comfortable. The staff here made us feel like family. Ice is put in the room twice a day. There is a full stock of beverages in the room, including ingredients for a bloody mary, so we made ourselves drinks and sat by our fire in the room each evening and on the patio in the afternoons.... Stayed in Lewa Wilderness for three nights. I loved every minute of our visit. We found it by chance on the internet as I googled Horse Riding in Kenya and up it popped. I am surprised at the limited number of the reviews available though...it has been there for a long while and the guest book was well thumbed and... More

Wilderness Trails is a private game reserve within the Lewa Downs Conservancy. The moment you enter this amazing property, through brightly coloured bougainvillea, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The grounds of the Craig family's home are beautifully kept and where the eight beautifully decorated cottages are situated. All the furniture and the carpets are made on the... More
