Overall, this is a pretty standard campsite (at least for a tent camper like me) as far as the national parks system goes. On the plus side, the bathrooms have flush toilets, running water and lights (no soap or paper towels/air dryer though). We stayed two nights end of October 29-30. Awesome. Moved out of Upper Pines to site 511 with a river view. Big coyote ran through the middle of campground just before noon. Pretty exciting especially for our coonhound.

We camped here during mid April 2010 for 3 nights with our 7 and 5 year old in a tent trailer. Used it as launching off to Yosemite points of interest.
