We were glad we had chosen to splurge at Yosemite's best accommodation, particularly because our three-day visit to the park coincided with a snow storm. The hotel is a beautiful, historical building, and we enjoyed afternoon tea and spending time in front of blazing stone fireplaces. Our room was comfortable and well appointed, though not very spacious. We did have... More

Our experience at this hotel was perfect from the moment we drove up until the moment we left, three days later. We stayed 3 nights in room 225 in mid Feb, a classic room with a nice view, sitting room, and a superbly comfortable bed. We purchased the internet rate that included breakfast (the buffet is amazing) and valet parking.... More

This is a lovely historic hotel. I live sort of nearby in CA so go to Yosemite often. I was absolutely appauled at the service during my last stay. A group of us went to celebrate a birthday. The service of food and delivery of things to help the party were acceptable, though not 4 star. But god help you... More

Don't pay any attention to the naysayers about the rooms. I expected the rooms to be just as they are, the hotel is old, a classic '30's - '40's feel. How much time do you spend in the room anyway? We were out skating, hiking, sightseeing, and taking in the clean fresh air. The restaurant has food and service to... More

We were very much looking forward to staying at the Ahwanee. This is a great hotel in a perfect location. You must make reservations very very early, particularly for the spring. At least 6 months in general. The hotel is beautiful but still has an authentic rustic feel. It is not however completely up to the standards of a true... More

I wish that it were possible to give separate ratings for the service and the room quality. My wife and I arrived early and were told our room wasn't ready - no problem because we expected that. We asked if there was another room that was ready, and the front desk clerk told us that the only rooms that were... More

My wife and I have visited this hotel many times, and we were married here last year. I think that it is definitely an acquired taste and one does have to take into account the nature of tourism in Yosemite Valley. Here are our thoughts on the hotel and a few tips for those thinking about booking/visiting… Yosemite Valley General... More

There is no other lodging in any other National Park that comes close to the uniqueness of the Ahwahnee. Our best friend took a group of 12 of us there for the first of the Chef's Holiday dinner season. We were the first to arrive and were given a 3rd floor room overlooking Half- Dome from the bed. Imagine that.... More

With the Ahwahnee, the setting of the hotel has to be one of the most beautiful spots in the world. When visiting a National Park expect the place to be a little rustic, but the Ahwahnee is a wonderful building with lots of charm. However I found the wait staff at the dinning room to be inattentive. I came towards... More

Good afternoon cbob21, Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us here at The Ahwahnee. It is rather embarrassing that not only did several of our associates pass by you and not engage with you but also a member of my management team. This is not who I want us to be and I apologize that we failed... More

Staying at the Ahwanhee Hotel was a bucket list item for me. Many years ago I had visited the hotel during a visit to Yosemite. I thought to myself, "Self, someday you will stay here." TripAdvisor writers had made me well aware of some of the drawbacks of this fine hotel. I do not regret for a moment staying there,... More
