This was a hard review for me to do! My mom and I stayed in a Frontier Cabin late September, 2009. It's hard to do because like the other Yellowstone hotels, being in an unbelievably gorgeous, incredible setting makes it difficult to complain about creature comforts. But, the cabins are horrible! We had what appeared from the outside, a cute... more

This turn of the century hotel is not quite as charming as it could be. The public areas are just a bit too modern. The rooms are fine, without many modern amenities such as a/c. Nice though. more

Spent a night in a Frontier Cabin to have a 'real' YNP experience. Our frontier cabin was more reasonably priced than other park lodging at $107 a night. It had 2 double beds and was very basic, with a small bathroom/tiny shower and a sink in the room, but it was clean and comfortable. Room lighting consisted of one glaring... more

If you want to go to Yellowstone and feel like you are out west without sleeping in a tent then stay in one of the cabins in the Mammoth area. While in the northwest corner of the park mammoth is still within an hour of most of the parks attractions. Also note the hour drive offers a great deal of... more

We stayed in one of the cabins at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. They're quaint but definitely beat setting up tents. Would love to go back and soon! more

Arrived to a buffalo in our parking spot; and had to wait for it to move to park and get out of the car. The room was modest, but did the trick for an overnight stay. The lounge and dining room were very nice. In the morning we wok to a bull elk and his 20 girlfriends in the square... more

this place is way expensive as per the services they provide for the stay. The rooms are really tiny. Windows are not double pane so if you are visiting in winter, its going to be cold nite, it has old style heaters i guess it works as i was not able to tell if it was working in my room.... more

We stayed here for two nights at the end of August in the lodge. We paid extra for a better room, which turned out to the at the end of the hall on the top floor, which was great because we didn't hear people walking past our door all the time (the hallways have wooden floors with a runner). Our... more

As part of two Lodging and Learning Programs run in conjunction with the Yellowstone Association Institute, I stayed in a 'Frontier Cabin' for six nights. The staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were polite, friendly and helpful. The cabins are OK but with two double beds space is limited with a very small haging area and very few, if any,... more

The cabins are nicely maintained inside and out, but they are TINY. I'm not quite sure how a room with two doubles was supposed to fit a family of five. We were tripping over each other and our suitcases. Luckily we were able to push the beds against the walls so we had room for an air mattress. We did... more
