Honestly, spend that tiny bit extra and stay somewhere else. Booked this place when it was owned and run by different ppl, but unfortunately my stay was after the changeover. The attitude of Ron or Rod at reception is terrible and he should be ashamed. He basically said anything discussed or arranged with the previous people means nothing now, and... More

Perfect location, near post office, two blocks to beach, one block to car rental. Dead center of the main street, watched the annual spam jam from my balcony. Yes its old, and a worn but its clean. Spotless. Considering where it is located it is very QUIET. My dog would be okay sitting on the chairs. Saved a lot of... More

We walked from the Courtyard by Marriott in Waikiki which did not have any more vacancies, to the slightly cheaper Polynesian Plaza which was only 2 streets away. Although the building is obviously older than the Courtyard, the rooms and balconies are much bigger. We had a microwave and an electric hot plate as well as crockery, saucepans etc. There... More

We checked in ..... Ok budget it is....pool ok. Fake grass sun terrace ok. Communal lounge rooms ok.. Area great. Room was actually quite quiet overlooking the terrace. Walls. Nasty. Chairs...extra nasty. I wouldn't let my dog sit on them! I wouldn't cook anything in that kitchen. And worse still. The bathroom? I'd rather wash down on the beach than... More

We got upgraded to a penthouse which was a great treat with heaps of space. The apartment had new carpert, fresh paint and loads of room. Convenient location and access to secure parking. Good kitchen facilities however it didn't include a kettle so we had to improvise with a saucepan for our cups of tea. Easy walk to Waikiki Beach... More

We stayed here in August 2012 when they had weekly rates and we had a fantastic experience. I would have given 4-5 stars for that stay. Part of the charm was the amazingly warm customer service from Tina and the attractiveness of this establishment to people looking for a value. We met Canadian's, Australians and folks from New Zealand and... More

Place has been sold. This is key. All previous reviews are fairly accurate to this; noisy rooms etc. Fixtures are original from the 60s and 70s. This is fine if you get those prices like we did, but you won't now, since the property has been sold and they are no longer honouring the old prices. Don't pay more than... More

We stayed here Feb 1-10. After completely rearranging the furniture and hiding the really ugly blankets, it looked just like a great beachy Hawaiian hotel room. We had a "city view" and I was actually glad because the sunset view faces a dive bar next door with pretty loud patrons staying late into the night. PROS: Location Price Clean Kitchenette/Fridge... I would like to start by saying that this is a budget hotel/vacation rental, you get what you pay for. It is not the Ritz but it is in a great location and is comfortable and clean. This places major asset is Tina (office lady). I have never met someone so helpful and kind! She truly makes your stay enjoyable!... More

Upon arrival, I checked in at the office next to the pool. The pool area was surrounded by rundown apartments overlooking it. Upon a late arrival, I got to the room and discovered the dirty bedding from the previous customer wadded up on the table by the dresser. When I requested the room to be cleaned, I was told they...
