Diamond Head b&b is unusual. It's a comfortable older home in the quiet upscale Diamond Head neighborhood. The owner Joanne and her live-in housekeeper Sumiko are 2 kind seniors who continue to tackle the challenge of running a b&b. There aren't any curtains on any of the windows, but the trees and mature gardens outside the windows provide privacy in... More

Joanne and Sumiko are delightful and the historic home and upscale neighborhood are amazing. Close to everything, excellent breakfasts, musical birdsong, bountiful trade winds, great views and easy street parking. Vastly better than a sterile hotel. We won't stay anywhere else in Honolulu. The price is right and the rooms are clean and spacious. Very highly recommended.

right after Christmas 2012. Loved the room (grandpa's room), the location and the food. Joanne and Sumuki were wonderful and very helpful. Wish we would have stayed here a few more nights rather than the hotels downtown. Would stay here again!

This was our first trip to Hawaii (for our 40th anniversary). We were so fortunate to select Diamond Head B&B. If you like cookie cutter cement and glass high rises right on Waikiki - don't stay here. If you like quaint, charming, lived in (yes, a bit cluttered just like at home), and warm hospitality -- stay here. Joanne even... More

This was our 7th stay at Joanne's B&B. We always stay in Makai suite with the fantastic view of Waikiki and Kapiolani Park. At night the view is just magical. There are plumeria trees and others just outside your lanai, and the fragrance is lovely. The singing birds awake you each morning. The room is very spacious with two queen... More

My husband and I stayed at Joanne's B&B for three nights. From all the good memories we brought back from Oahu staying at Princess Ruth's room is certainly one of them. Joanne is extremely nice and helpful and so is Sumiko. Breakfasts consisted of plenty of tropical fruits and local products, lovely! This is the perfect place to enjoy Waikiki... More

This place is awesome. We stayed in the apartment and loved it (no steps, handicap accessible). You feel like you are in a tropical forest with the birds to wake you in the morning. The breakfast was wonderful, Joanne and Sumiko were great hosts. Very close to the beach and the entrance to diamond head. I would gp back here... More

This b&b is everything & more you could want in a B&b. I've stayed In countless b&b's & this truly ranks among the best. I do not have a single complaint. Anyone who has anything negative to say about the furniture simply has poor taste. Not only is the home filled with lovely antiques, some are of historical significance. I... More

I am from Oahu. I had not visited there since 1974. Joanne and Sumiko were the most gracious hostesses, it really was like staying at my Aunty's house in Hawaii. It is close to all of the things that you would want to see, Waikiki beach, Honolulu, ect, and in many cases within walking distance. This was my first ever... More

If you're tired of all the hullabaloo around Waikiki, but still want to be close by (10-20 minute walk), this is a great place to stay. Joanne and Sumiko live here and make a MARVELOUS breakfast filled with fresh tropical fruit (the starfruit and apple bananas are from their garden!) and great conversation. I'd never had such deliciously sweet pineapple... More
