We stayed here before our day of exploring Teddy Roosevelt National Park. This hotel is a gem. Usually in towns as small as Medora, you dont get places as grand as the Rough Rider. This property exceeded our expectations. I would love to visit again sometime in the future. More

Very friendly staff. Big, clean room. Well-stocked library. We didn't realize that the restaurant was closed on Sunday evenings. More

This is a great oasis to stay in your visit of this great area. The place is well cared for and the restaurant and facilities are great. We stayed and played here for a month. Take in the hall of fame down the street. Visit the Natiomal Park nearby and hav a meal at the Cowboy Cafe. More

Visit the old west where hospitality , cleanliness, and friendliness comes first! Sit back and relax in this old fashioned cow town and you must attend the pitch fork fondue and musical to get your full dose of patriotism ! Amazing, every time I see the show it gives me goose bumps! Well worth the trip!! More

The hotel is fine, but expensive. Our room was sparse, with a single chair, no table, and bedside table and light only on one side of the bed. But there was a giant walk-in shower that could accommodate several people. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors. It is the best place in Medora, but the other choices... More

We took a trip to Medora because it is the place to go in North Dakota, or so we heard. The Roughrider is in the location best to walk to nearly everything, so if you are going to Medora, and can afford it--this is the place to stay. The Rough Rider's Hotel is by far the most updated hotel in... More

This was our final planned stop on our 2-week, 4,100-mile Yellowstone & Dakotas road trip during mid-June 2011, and as you could guess, we were pretty much running on fumes by the time we arrived in Medora. The Rough Riders Hotel was the perfect way to cap the ‘vacation’ portion of our trip before we embarked on the drudgery of... More

What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy! Rough Riders is anything but rough. This place has it all, luxurious beds and bedding, CLEAN, new and inviting rooms. There is a library in the main hallway with comfortable chairs for honing up on the history of this Theodore Rooseveldt National Park area of the country. A delightful full service restaurant... Stayed here as part of a conference. I had stayed in Medora years ago at the AmericInn which was satisfactory and I remember seeing the Rough Riders then, which hadn't yet been updated and looked about as it must have when TR stayed. But in 2008 it underwent a big renovation and it is by far the nicest hotel in... More
