I believe that their reservation website does not function properly as an attempt to defraud customers. I attempted three times to book a room with this company and kept getting error messages. I never received a confirmation nor did I get an email that the reservation was confirmed. My brother-in-law also had the same problem and he called and the... more

We stayed 2 nights and could not sleep well because of the thin walls, and the old too soft bed. We could hear conversations and TV's, toilets being flushed or showers turned on, and a neighbor snoring. The room definitely feels well worn, especially the small bathroom with the dusty nonfunctioning heater. The view is nice and being up on... more

Skyland Lodge is for those who don't want to make the trek back down the mountain after a day of hiking or touring on Skyline Drive. Run by the Shenandoah National Park concessionaire, Aramark, the accomodations are basic. Unit157 where we stayed was a room about 18x20 with 2 double beds and a bathroom. In a 1-story building on the... more

I was surprised and thrilled with my room. The rooms are located in smaller separate buildings, with the restaurant and tap room in a central building. My room was in a building on a ridge, with a lovely western view of the valley and the sunset. I had a balcony with chairs and could watch the sunsets in the evening... more

Everything worked. Would go back. We were there with friends and had attached rooms as requested. When the TV remote quit working someone fixed it as they said they would. more

Took a two day trip up Skyland Drive through the park in route to Washington, DC. We hiked on several of the short hikes from the road. Arrived at Skyland Resort late in the evening. The accommodations were exactly as how I expected. My young children were a little upset without a TV, but that added to the rustic decor... more

We stayed 2 nights at S031, booked a great deal online with 50% off the 2nd night for a total of $167 including tax. The standard room is actually part of a block of rooms 'longhouse style', each having its own balcony. In our case, the view consisted of some trees, i.e., not much of a view. The room was... more

It is a superb location with fantastic views and wildlife (deer, chipmunk) to be seen on the site. It's best to remember that is what you went for. We found the motel style rooms depressing and dowdy. Furnishings follow a brown theme which doesn't help and the 70's style architecture of the "motel" blocks (there are about 6 spread round... more

If you want a 5 star resort with all frill and pomp, don't come here. This is an old resort, kept up in good condition, that is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of our country. Who cares if there is not a Wal-mart nearby!!!! I for one, am glad there is not. The nature, the scenery, the... more

Stayed here in August for 3 nights. We had a good time. Lot of wildlife (bears & deer), very quiet and decent hiking. Check in was simple. Rooms are spread out. We had a superior room far from the lodge (most of the rooms are at lower level) so drove down. Parking is fine although if you get back late,... more
