Friends suggested this hotel for the value and atmosphere both which we found to be great! The breakfast was fabulous and included in the room price. I would definitely stay again! The soak in the hot tub was a nice way to end the day. more

I read about El Rey Inn in the New York Times. It was also written up in Oprah magazine. The grounds are cute, but our room was dark and small. To walk between the foot of the bed and the dresser was difficult. There may have been a foot of space. My husband and I could not have walked through... more

Perfect getaway at a reasonable price in a city not known for many bargains. Ask for a room near the back. You won't even know that busy Cerrillos Road exists. We paid $125 for a comfortable room with a balcony overlooking one of the swimming pools. more

We visit Santa Fe at least once a year and heard about El Rey from friends. El Rey was wonderful! Charming, convenient to downtown, clean/spacious room, delicious breakfast buffet, friendly/helpful staff, beautiful grounds, great value. We couldn't have asked for more. We look forward to returning to El Rey in Santa Fe! more

Why anybody with children would come to Santa Fe is beyond me. We are from San Diego and have two small children, 5 and 3. Thought Santa Fe would be a nice town to visit. Wrong. Santa Fe has this pompous arrogance about itself. Every where we went, we got this snooty attitude. You could tell that kids are not... more

We stayed four nights here and found the hotel to be a nice home base. The grounds are very relaxing with an elegant spa area and lovely gardens and fountains. The large pool was also very nice. The location is not real great-it's on a busy street several miles from the Plaza (however, the bus goes right by there and... more

I have never enjoyed staying someplace more than I have at the El Rey Inn. (as far as hotels/motels go) I am not including places like a cabin in the woods, or on a mountainside. I walked around the property three times tonight, enjoying the perfect weather, the beautiful flowers, the quaint little walkways, with statues, and enjoyed seeing all... more

My wife and I ended up in Santa Fe a few nights ago without a hotel reservation, we had taken a last minute trip. We called a few places and closer to the Plaza was in excess of $140 per night for a chain. I remember staying at the El Rey about 20 years ago and we called them. They... more

After a horrible experience of checking in at our original Santa Fe B & B booking at the Casa Pacifica (BEWARE- DO NOT STAY AT THE CASA PACIFICA - HORRIBLE - DID NOT GIVE REFUND-see my review about the CASA PACIFICA!), my friend and I were ready to continue our holiday. We landed at the EL REY and were more... more
