First, I want to say...If you have an open mind your stay at this inn is bound to be a decent or good one. What I mean by this is...Don't go in expecting some 5 star swanky new, modern hotel. It is so nice when people appreciate the inn for what it is - a small historic bed and breakfast inn, not a large, cookie-cutter hotel or motel. A much appreciated visit to Salem was my Christmas gift from my sister Patrice and her children Shawn and Shannon. As part of the surprise my niece scheduled a two night stay at the Salem Inn. What an excellent choice. We stayed in room 41 which is considered a family suite and the room could not have suited us better.... more

We, at the Salem Inn, firmly believe it is our responsibility, and desire, to be friendly and hospitable, as well as professional. We would not be in the hospitality business in the first place if this were not the case. All of our front desk staff are aware of this, and strive to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable....
We stayed for a long weekend for Haunted Happenings and enjoyed our stay at the Salem Inn. They had a very nice breakfast every morning and our room was nice and cozy. It also doesn't hurt to mention that the Inn is haunted! Ask for room 17!! more

The only thing I liked was the location. Dislikes: Loud music/orgy in next room until 3 am Old bedding in Peabody House Froze all night cause no wood for fire/heat didn't work Told girl at front desk of trouble, all she said was "Oh." It is very unfortunate that the reviewer did not contact the front desk when she was disturbed by loud, inconsiderate guests in a neighboring guest room at the Peabody House. This is very unusual behavior and certainly is not tolerated by management. We always have a staff member in attendance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order...
My wife and I spent a long weekend in Salem just a few weeks before Halloween. As you can imagine, the entire city was in Halloween mode and it was truly terrific.
