If you're looking for a beautiful, secluded campgrounds in Maine: we highly recommend Southbay. Jack, the owner, is helpful and friendly and relaxed about checkout times and all of those sorts of things.. The RV and tent sites near the road and office seemed good. But, Jack has lovingly developed a loop of beautiful sites on a peninsula, without affect... more

We recently stayed at South Bay Campground. It met our needs (a place to camp), but seemed a bit neglected. The bathhouses were dirty and smelly and the playground and pool area could use some upkeep. The owner was friendly but the office could also use some cleaning up....especially since that is a person's first impression of the campground. We... more

Too bad web info on this campground is so hard to find- it is one of the best places I have ever camped at. Large private sites, almost all with views of the pristeen Cobscook Bay. SouthBay Campgrounds is on topr of the rest and absolutely the best. Good old-fashioned hopitality with tent sites that make you wonder if anyone else is around. Cabins in the moonlight. The Rv's are stationed at the entrance, before the inground pool, and shower area. The sites are large and comfortable. Overlooking the bay from the bluff offers a spectacular... more
