What a wonderful experience staying in the river unit. Fireplace made the room warm and cozy. Sitting on the deck next to the river with a glass of wine a meditating experience. The rates were very reasonable. Clean and decor was very nice. Restaurant within walking distance and excellent food. We will stay again. more

A stopping point before going over Trail Ridge Road. Unfortunately snow blocked the road even early in October. Paid extra for a cabin with a log fire which was worth the extra on a cold night. Dinner in the steakhouse was reasonable whilst not outstanding. Reasonable breakfast. Clean rooms. more

On the positive side, I was VERY impressed with the remodeling done on the rooms--they used what looked like aspen wood on two walls, plus had the same kind of cabin wood furniture and decor. We stayed at Nicky's the night of 9/17/04. The motel has been remodeled under new management and is very clean and comfortable. We have eaten at Nicky's steakhouse next door to the lodge for years and have always found the food to be very good and reasonably priced. more
