We enjoyed the room and dinner package on June 1st 2011. this place is a real slice of a by gone era . the drive up the hill from the town below takes about 25 min. we had a wonderful dinner in the lodge dinning room. the staff was friendly. This place is a great detour off the coast highway.... More

My wife and I make a hobby of trying to stay at as many of the "Great Lodges of the National Parks" as possible. Over the years we have stayed at many but even though the Chateau at Oregon Cave's National Monument is the closest "Grand Lodge" to our home we had overlooked visiting that site. It is located in... We had a great time.... went with the girlfriends for the weekend and it was great. The lodge is nice and cozy - not particularly fancy but it's got great windows, a big fireplace, cozy rooms and historic charm. The staff was very accomodating and helpful, the food decent, and the view excellent. With it being a historic hotel you... More

I am of two minds about this lodge. The setting is wonderful, you feel like you're living in the trees. Once the caves close it's very quiet. It feels like a true getaway with no TV, no cell phone service and limited wifi. Guests spent time in the beautiful rustic lobby listening to entertainment, playing games, reading etc. It felt... We stayed at the lodge because of the caves and the history of the area. Lodge and services were wonderful. Not a 5 Star hotel for sure, but lots of fun. We were very disappointed in the food though. The fact that the serving staff kept telling everyone they are local did not make up for the fact that the... More

We like to visit old historic hotels, but this one was indeed 'rustic'. We stayed in the family room suite and amenities were sparse; but what really concerned us was the possibility of bedbugs since 3 of the 4 members of our party complained the next morning of itching and 'bites'! Hope other rooms did not have these problems. More

The Chateau at Oregon Caves National Monument is a very rustic lodge -- some would classify it among the "Great Lodges" of the National Park system. However, it is nothing like the Ahwahnee in Yosemite or the great lodges and hotels in Yellowstone, or even the very nice lodge in nearby Crater Lake. The Chateau has very small rooms that... More

I'm a big fan of historic National Park type Lodges & this one fits in with some of the good ones like Timberline, Crator Lake & the Old Faithful Inn (my favorite). Hand crafted & unique, this "chateau" offers peace & quiet (at least after the day trippers leave) with it's rustic charm; large old timbers, beautiful windows, fixtures &... More

This is a bit of a tough review to write. I'm a fan of historic National Park Lodges, and this one definitely falls in that category. The setting is scenic and the lodge has plenty of character. The evening we were there, there was a musician entertaining in the lobby, and plenty of books and board games to occupy your... More

It was very convenient to spent a night there and took a first tour to the caves. Kids liked the rustic atmosphere there and the view from the window was breathtaking! We were there on Memorial weekend and it was snowing! But the hotel itself is very shaby and I expected more comfort for that price. Overall, I think it... More
