The hotel is undergoing a renovation, so the room had brand new carpet and AC. Views of downtown from the hotel include Coleman Hill with the grand Woodruff House, around to the Terminal Station and Central City Park, basically all of the museum district. There was plenty of covered parking at the hotel, so it was great to park the car and be able to walk the 2 blocks to Cherry Street, where there are several local restaurants and clubs. Also, just one block from the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. A great location to base a tour of the historic Macon architecture, as well as Rose Hill Cemetery. And only minutes from the famed H & H Restaurant, where Mama Louise serves the best meat and three in Macon, famous for nurturing the Allman Brothers Band during their starving artist days in Macon.
