Stayed in a roomy double room. The kitchenette was functional with enough utensils. Heating is not adequate for us, as the bathroom was too cold for us to attempt to shower that night. We paid for the internet but it was not working, so we got our refund. Due to the heating and the non-working internet, we checked out after... more

A small budget Motel well located for a walk to town centre or a car trip to the beautiful Lake Matheson. The room had one double (didn't know they still made them) and one single bed, a kitchenette and small dining table. The bathroom was small but the shower was efficient. The young lady at reception was very helpful in... more

The motel is pretty functional (limited kitchen facilities, smallish bathrooms, tv) and located very close (5 mins walk) to the departure point for most of the treks onto Fox Glacier. At the price they ask, its offers pretty good value. One problem we faced was the amount of mosquito bites that we got during our stay here. I don't know... more

Nice, spacious room, a short walk to the Fox Glacier intersection where everything is. Not on the lake, but close enough driving. We stayed in one of the spa rooms, and were a little put off at first by the brownish water coming out of the tap, but it's harmless - we suffered no ill effects,, and it was nice... more

We spent one night here in March 2009. We had a 2 bedroom unit and the accommodation was fairly spacious and clean with parking available directly outside each unit. My only slight criticism would be that some of the interior is a bit old-fashioned, other than that. However, that wouldn't be enough to put me off staying here again. The... more

We booked to stay here in Standard Double Room for 2 nights at $150 per night. It was the most expensive place we stayed in on our trip to New Zealand and extremely disappointing. The place was reasonably equipped and had all we needed but was nevertheless disappointed. The decor was tired - drab, dark and somewhat depressing. The layout... more

We stayed here in March 2008 (a little late with the review) and were pleasantly surprised given some lukewarm reviews at that point. We found it very convenient, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We stayed in a premium 2 bedroom unit - like a small cottage almost. Very clean. Maybe not falhy, but well equipped. Peaceful location (though anywhere in Fox... more

Spent 2 nights. The room is basic but more than adequate. Mini kitchen came in handy. The motel is in a quiet location. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom was a little tight, but ok. The internet is not free, but for a small fee, the value is very good. We enjoyed our stay, and have no complaints more

I had that awful sinking feeling when we came face-to-face with two unsmiling, snappy receptionists at the Lake Matheson Motel in Fox Glacier - it was as though we were intruding on them! We had to face them again half an hour later, to ask them to replace the dirty pillowcases of the extra pillows in the cupboard, which they... more
