Wow - what can i say...we booked this hotel because we'd stayed in the other main hotel in Omarama before so wanted to try something different. We arrived around 3pm, there was no one on reception. The place was completely deserted and there was only a sign saying to call a number on the telephone provided. Turns out it was... More

We spent just 1 night there en route to Queenstown. The hotel is very dated, but certainly good value for money. The Staff were most helpful, and super-friendly. The meal was excellent, but not many people there to enjoy it. They need to make the place more attractive to the passing public as they are in a great position. More

This hotel is in need of lots of money spent on it. I should have guessed that things were not good at beginning when there was not a person anywhere when we checked in and the resturant and bar were closed. The smell of the airfreshner/cleaner was overpowering in the hallways The first room was unlivable, the sheets were dirty... More

It may be a good or fair or whatever hotel, but its listing is misleading. Mt Cook Village is many miles away from Omararama. If you do not live here in N.Z., you need to know this, for your planning. That said, accommodation in the actual Village may be expensive. More

External appearances much nicer than interior. TV was broke. Laundry was broke. Radio was broke. Staff on their last legs. But wonderful all the same. Rooms were a piece of recent history. Omarama excellent country village. More

We stayed at the Countrytime for a gliding competition. It is an older hotel that hasn't been redone in some time. The hallway carpet is particularly 70s, but I have a soft spot for that kind of decor, myself. We had a microwave and fridge in our room, but no kitchenette, like in many NZ motels. The staff was extremely... More
