I've just stayed there in the last week of January12. Altough the hotel could get some renew in the average it's ok. Compared to the other options it's the best choice. 10 minutes walk from the restaurants and stores - use the beach to make the walk- it has a nice pool and the room is very confortable. The guys... This hotel is the best in the Montanita area. The view from the room is amazing and it's a few steps from the sand and sea. It also has a good size pool. The food is excellent and the staff is very cordial and informative. Johnny and Otton were always attentive and made us feel at home. The rooms are... More

I've stayed at several hotels when visiting this surf beach. It's the best stay thus far. It's about 10 mins walk to main strip but if you want to surf this hotel is actually in the center of action! The price is the highest compared to rest of hotels but well worth it. If you want comfort, relaxation and are... More

This place is one of the nicest in the area. Checking in was easy, they have a small store that offers beach gear. The room we stayed in had two bedrooms and a bathroom. It was clean and comfortable. They have AC and TV with cable. When we walked in the room smelled horribly, we called the front desk and they... More

I have stayed in other hostels in Montanita and by far this one is the best. A little more expensive than the other ones but you get what you pay for. So if you visit montanita and if you actually are going to get some rest I suggest this one, if not then stay at the 10$ a night ones. More

We just stayed one night. Loved the beach and only a few minute drive to town. Lots of places to eat there and people watch, very entertaining. Rooms were a decent size, a little older, but clean. More

the surroundings were nice and the room too in sort of cottage style, but far too expensive for that standard (also in consideration of country prices). The worst thing though was that they wanted us to pay in advance (since they apparently had had problems with OTHER customers!), which in itself is an unuasual thing to ask. And we were... More

this place needs some serious attention with faded exterior and worn rooms. it is extremely overpriced by ecuador standards. the pool tiles were all falling off, shower door was falling off, exterior needed a paint job. entrance road full of muddy potholes. restaurant twice the price of the restaurants in montanita. the worst and most expensive place we stayed. give... We arrived at the Baja Montanita after a disappointing first night in Salinas (shouldn't have wasted our time). We booked one of the larger matrimonio rooms for $90/night plus tax (this included a safe, minibar and was on the top floor, which distinguished it from the $75/night room). We had a gorgeous view of the pool, beach bar and beyond... More

We had not planned on travelling to Montanita on our 3 week trip to Ecuador but after a few nice days in Bahia de Caraquez we decided to spend more time along the coast. In all, 'we' were comprised of 4 adults and 2 children (3 and 5 yrs). We booked a couple of rooms the day before our arrival... More
