La Barquita is a wonderful oasis on a wide open beach on the Ruta del Sol. It is a perfect escape from the busier towns. With beautifully landscaped gardens and simple rooms it is a great place to spend a few days with an additional element of fun in the Boat shaped restaurant and bar.

My partner and I stayed in La Barquita for 4 nights in January 2011. The grounds are unbelievable. We loved the gardens and the hammocks everywhere. The pool is one of the nicest I've seen in South America. We would definitely recommend it.

The food was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly. And the atmosphere was great. I really liked the bar on top of the boat. I'd stay again for sure. And the newly added pool was a fantastic, for when things got to hot and you didn't want to jump in the ocean.
