My wife and I stayed in the Partridgeberry Room at the Rosedale in September of 2011 while we were exploring the Avalon Penninsula. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We booked the Rosedale at the last minute and were told to pick up our keys at Phillips Cafe, run by the owners, two or three blocks from the Rosedale. We were... More

Four of us stayed at the Rosedale on our way to St. Johns for our 10 day CapeRace Adventure, and on the way back to the ferry. Linda was very helpful with directions and suggestions, and gave us a history lesson about resettlement and the "Uprooted" at Argentia. And the house was wonderful, and we enjoyed the company of the... More

Plesant experience, the ladies looking after us were wonderful. Linda and Phil were leaving so we did not experience Phils Bakery. More

My husband and I enjoyed staying in the Osprey Room, a queen size bed and room facing the water. The bed was comfortable and the setting, including their garden, was beautiful. One of the parts we especially liked was that the couple who own this run Philip's Cafe/Bakery and Philip is a wonderful chef. When you stop at the bakery... More

I stayed here with my mother on our trip to Newfoundland. The room was lovely, comfortable, clean and we enjoyed a good night's sleep. We enjoyed the breakfast, treats and conversation with our hosts, Linda and Phil at Phil's Bakery and Cafe located a short distance from Rosedale Manor. We would definitely stay here again. More

Lovely clean room and accomodations, you will definitely enjoy it. The owners pay attention to detail from the furnishing and fixtures to the linens. They own the bakery down the street and breakfast is excellent as well. More

We enjoyed our stay overall and the hosts were very nice... It wasn't the cleanest or nicest of places as most people wore their shoes in the common areas and it needed a few upgrades but the room was pretty clean :) We were a little put off at first that we had to drive for breakfast (it didn't help... The Rosedale Manor is cozy and welcoming beginning immediately upon reception with a cup of tea and freshly baked pastries! The inn is a heritage home centrally located directly on the inner harbor of this very historic and picturesque community. The rooms are fresh, clean and roomy, and breakfast is a real treat as the innkeeper is also a pastry... More

Placentia is a small city with one restaurant (while we wait for Phil's café and bakery to open) and few things to do. The scenery is very pretty, like most of NFLD, and it makes for good walks in a romantic setting. But there's nothing to do. The B&B has good-size rooms on two floors, tea and coffee available all... We arrived tired from a day of sightseeing and within just minutes of entering, Linda welcomed us as if we were old friends and had hot tea and chocolate cookies with a chocolate partridgeberry ganache that Philip had baked. The cookies were wonderful. We ordered our breakfast for the next morning and received a recommendation for dinner at the 3... More
