This hotel is right across from the Convention Center and the Mississippi River. Stayed here for a conference. Nice stay. The hotel is quite old and has definitely been renovated. The writer spent two nights at the NG and was disappointed. When one thinks of a grand hotel one expects older time tested amenities. There is no doorman, grand lobby or elegant decor or furnishings. The Grand has an excellent location with a great view of the river and the river walk. My only problem is that there was no cold water in the room. The shower was way too hot.They did offer to change the room but it turns out that this is a problem many times. More
