Spent 1 night here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Perfect from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed by Tony to our spacious room in a converted barn. Lovely to have a proper coffee maker and fresh milk in the fridge and the cake was yummy! The accommodation is not country house style, but extremely comfortable with good attention to... More

My husband and I spent the most wonderful three days at Percy's. The food was fabulous, very carefully prepared. We joined another couple for dinner at the suggestion of the host, and we had a great time. In the morning, we visited the hen house to choose our eggs; that was an experience! During the day, we took long walks... More

We liked the idea very much of a comfortable country hotel growing and preparing its own food, and indeed this is what they did. However, we never felt a particularly warm welcome, and teh rooms while perfectly functional did not feel particularly special. In addition the food while using excellent ingredients was in some cases bland and in others excessively... More

Arrived at the hotel for a two night stay to find we were not expected, although we had pre booked. We found we were the only guests staying at the hotel and were upgraded to a suite, which was nice. However the room was full of huge flies, some dead, lots still alive. The complementary cake on arrival was non... More

My Husband and I booked this night away at last minute. Just an hours drive from us it was the perfect Country retreat. When we arrived, we dropped bags and straight away went off to explore the 130 acre estate, guided by Percy's very own sheepdog and tourguide 'Sophie' ! Being foodies and 25 years experience ourselves in the hospitality... More

(Note: This is of the restaurant only) Very (!) late review but from the other comments here it does not as look as if much has changed. Service was painfully slow, starters and mains were fine (but not spectacular), desserts average, but the atmosphere was terrible. Sadly all down to the owner who just appeared incredibly patronising - although as... More

We received a wedding voucher for Percy's - a very kind gift indeed. As parents of an 18 month old child, we arranged a babysitter (i.e. grandparents!), booked a table for 8pm and looked forward to a special evening. Whilst the food was okay - and no more than that - it was a long wait! Our starter arrived at... More

It is a little too far to drive from Plymouth just for supper. We have eaten here five times and stayed once.We have always had an excellent meal. Sometimes the selection on the small carefully constructed seasonal menu is better than others. it is a converted old farmhouse with a newer bar section at the back. The owners previously operated... A desperately needed last minute break and some deft work with Google ended in a 3 night stay at Percy's. After a lengthy drive from London - Percy’s handily provide an exact GPS location for sat nav – we arrived to be greeted by chef Tina, three black Labradors and an over-excited border collie called Sophie, who became our guide... Percys is okay. But its main problem is the lack of atmosphere. The rooms are in a separate converted barn and are spacious but in terms of decor and amenities are rather tired. Food is of a high standard but took a long time to arrive. More
