“Not your typical residence inn”

I decided to save my company money and not stay at the lowes where the conference was held. Mistake number one. As a frequent traveler (60 hotel nights a year) I stay in enough Marriott and Hilton's to know this place should be flagged as a Fairfield Inn at best. “Rooms were clean, good neighborhood”

We stayed the weekend at this hotel and we were very pleased. The hotel and room were very clean. The staff we did run into were very nice. The neighborhood was good, we walked to a concert and back at 2 in the morning and had no problems at all. The breakfast was great and so was the parking.

“Not modern, not what I expect from a Marriott property.”

I recently booked two rooms at this property for business travel. The rooms are not modern, and in need of serious upgrades. Great location - walking distance to midtown, restaurants and park areas. Expensive parking though. Stayed there 5 nights and parking cost ~20 USD per night. Manager would not negotiate the parking fee even though I stayed for almost a week. The Marriott Courtyard across the Highway is much nicer, cleaner and a bit less expensive. My first experience staying in Atlanta and here at the Residence. I was a late arrival but the front desk was cheerful, courteous and extremely accommodating. I'm off to a good start and will be looking forward to experience the rest of the week.
