The hotel I had planned on booking in downtown Decatur, Ga. was closed for remodeling and my client booked this place. I approached with trepidation as the reviews on Trip Advisor were pretty bad. Imagine my surprise to find a worn, but neat and unassuming little hotel nestled in the heart of Emory University. Imagine my surprise to be greeted... More

Booked for location close to Emory U & medical facilities. Room was below parking lot area which allowed very little natural light in. Floor was stained & hadn't been vacuumed prior to check-in. Left my sandals bedside so I could walk around. Look elsewhere. You can definitely do better. More

I paid $100 for a suite (which I was told was the only type of room available when I called to make a reservation) and my experience was definitely not value for the money! The room, while spacious, was kind of dingy and not especially clean. The staff was rather cold and uninterested. The service was pretty bad- I requested... More

Where do I start...at first I was a little skeptical. I read some of the reviews here and there are very strong feelings for both good and bad experiences. I decided location was important enough to go ahead and book with the Inn. Even discounting the extreme views of the hotel, I was amazed by the "quaint" Inn. The rooms... More

Ideally situated for Emory campus. Large rooms. Gentleman hosting the afternoon refreshments friendly, polite, and made us feel welcome. The room needed updating, bureau was missing some hardware, and there was some mold in the bathtub and around the sink. More

I read the reviews of this dump and signed up for the weekend because it's near Emory.. They put me in a place called "the Guest House"!. The "Guest House" is a separate building with a dilapidated exterior, and a narrow ugly interior hallway. When I got to the room the single overhead light on the switch was burned out... More

I stayed here while at a conference on the Emory campus. The location is great for Emory but you are fairly isolated from Atlanta if that's where you want to be. There is a bus service which is ok and takes about 20min to get to Atlanta-get a breeze card. Decatur which is a lovely area is a little closer... More

After researching many Atlanta hotels and motels we found The University Inn. My wife, grandson, step-daughter and step-son booked two rooms for a one week Atlanta vacation. what an incredible find. The rooms were well below in price compared to other hotels and motels. The rooms were large, clean and well kept. The staff were always very helpful and cared... More

First, I booked by internet and never got email confirmation so I called to check. The staffer promised to resend the email but I never got anything, so I wasn't sure of a reservation when we arrived in Atlanta. I booked the guest house for $89/night but was informed that the room was changed to the main inn; however the... More

We just returned from dropping our only son off at Emory for the first time (so difficult!) The University Inn was quiet and homey, and the rooms were very large. Yes, the decor is simple and not fancy, but it was just as described. The location was perfect and very easy to get around as we did not have a... More
