This really is a wonderful place to stay and in particular for the charming and interested attention you receive from the hosts. It honestly felt that after a couple of days you were staying with old friends who joined you for a glass of wine and a chat in front of the log burner in the lounge. We took the... More

Went with six friends to spend Christmas at the Cortijo. From the moment we arrived we felt at home, we were made so welcome by Ali and Caroline. Such a lovely cosy feel to the place, nothing too much trouble for them and the food was excellent, well presented with lots of special touches.Wonderful views and pleasant gardens, lots of... More

Great place, great food. We loved this place. Ali is the best host. He and his wife make it great. Wold for sure come back. We were on a biking trip but would be a great place to base yourself for day trips to Southern Spain. We had a great time. Ali and his wife really are great host and... More

We had a fantastic week here.Caroline and Ali were perfect hosts making us feel so welcome. We didn't intend to eat at the Cortijo ever night but once tasting Caroline's food and the lovely atmosphere round the table we didn't want to miss a night. The location was great, the rooms lovely, the garden had lots of quiet corners to sit and relax.... More

We have been self catering for the past few holidays so were a little unsure whether we had made the right choice. From the moment we arrived to the warm welcome from Ali and Caroline, we couldn't have been happier. Excellent food, lovely room and great location, in fact it is hard to add anything to the already excellent reviews.... More

This is our second time at the Cortijo and as before it was perfect. Caroline and Ali made it just as perfect as last year. We had from 10 people down to 6 round the table but the food and friends were great. Caroline please let me know when the cook book is finished and I will buy it. More

We had the pleasure of staying at Cortijo Valverde last week. This will be our first of many trips. Ali and Caroline our lovely hosts left us wanting for nothing. Upon arrival we were greeted with warm hospitality and lots of great information, including a guidebook with every local attraction and detailed directions. Breakfast was very nice, as well as... My fiancé and I chose to stay here because we have grown to dislike large hotels and wanted to be in more calm and intimate surroundings. We were not disappointed - Cortijo Valverde is in a stunning location, there are never more than a dozen or so people there and if you want rest and relaxation you can enjoy peaceful... More

It's difficult to expand on what all the other reviews say, peaceful location, great accommodation, excellent food and beautiful gardens with views over the surrounding mountains and valleys. Caroline and Ali are great hosts, giving fantastic service in an unpretentious and informal way. Before we went we were a bit apprehensive about the dinner party format but it worked well... More

We stayed here because we were looking for a relaxing break. What we got was exactly that, the accommodation was fantastic and the surrounding gardens and pool area were totally peaceful. The hosts (Caroline and Ali) were wondeful and nothing is to much trouble, Ali is a mind of information and not just on the local area and history and... More
