We loved the William Catlin House, located in the Church Hill Section of Richmond. This historic house is beautifully appointed and the owners live on site which make for an intimate warm experience with huge breakfast. More

My husband and I stay at bed and breakfasts several times a year and agree that the William Catlin House is one of the best ones we have stayed at. Located in the lovely and historic Church Hill neighborhood, it is very close to the museums and businesses of downtown Richmond. The house itself is beautiful. Our room and bathroom... More

We cannot recommend this place. It almost soured us to B&Bs all together. The location is great, but that is about it. The innkeeper was unpleasant and the breakfasts at best mediocre. The amenities in the room consisted of plastic cups and shampoo/condition collected from myriad other hotels. Things in the room were broken - like blinds and toilet seat.... More

Traveling from Savannah to Philadelphia, we had an overnight stay at the William Catlin House. The Church Hill residential section was quiet and convenient for a walking tour of downtown. Dinner in the Patrick Henry Grill next door was a wonderful surprise. Our sleep was comfortable, and Jody was an excellent hostess. The antiques in the home were intriguing. We'll... More

I needed to spend one night at Richmond for my business trip. I thought I should choose a different type of hotel compared to the normal type hotel. That's the reasen that I picked this small B&B. My total impression was really good. The owner was helpful and kind. The breakfast was not impressive but what kind of breakfast do... More

This is a great place to stay if you want to experience quiet Church Hill neighborhood. I have a few nit-picky complaints, i.e., room was over-air-conditioned in the evening; breakfast was not too tasty; room was spacious and comfortable but decor just a tad frumpy for my taste, but all in all, we had a really good stay and would... The WIlliam Catlin house was very nice. It was within walking distance to some attractions and restaurants. The owner was helpful and accomodating. Breakfast was great! My only complaint was that the bed was not very comfortable and our room was rather chilly. More

I had to go to Richmond on business and wanted to book something close to the downtown restaurants but without the high rates. This was a perfect choice! The house is in a nice neighborhood and is close to everything. ( Very near the E.A. Poe house) My room was very inviting and clean. The private bath was spacious. Breakfast... More
