I have stayed here over the years for special occasions, for graduations and for random visits to Cambridge. The gabled clapboard building has authentic charm, from the idiosyncratic, homelike comfortable rooms, to the actual hand-built stone foundation revealed in the breakfast room. A wonderful B&B only a block from Harvard. We stayed three nights over the Labor Day holiday. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was austere, but other reviewers have commented on that. We would definitely come back. more

Great service from the friendly staff at this cosy B+B. Room was very comfortable with all ameneties as described. Our second stay at Irving House and we would return without hesitation. We were staying with friends and had a great time, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Great continental self-service breakfasts! more

My room was tiny but clean and functional and at $105/night with bath I believe it was a good deal. The staff was OK but not particularly freindly or charming.
