This is a lovely old hotel. Friendly welcome, owner/manager very helpful. We had a gorgeous spacious room. Room sizes vary. Cosy bar and hot pool. Good breakfast. This is like an great old classic car quirky but a joy to drive. The hotel iscertainly very comfortable. This is what you come to Iceland for. Excellent fish restaurant nearby. It is... More

Since we're traveling in the off-season, most tourist hot spots are closed and hotels are fairly cheaper. Hotel Tindastoll, however, was still the most expensive place we stayed (about 3000 ISK more than most). We were the only people at the hotel, including the owner - we had to call when we arrived and wait at the door for somebody... More

Out of 8 nights, this was the hotel with most characteristic. We had a very large room for 4. Two beds, one on either side of the room. Bathroom was a bit small, but manageable to say the least. The steps up to the room were small and steep. Nearby, there's a great restaurant you shouldn't miss! Olafhus was amazing. More

if you had called this a B&B I likely would feel more satisfied. The place has charm and the people are nice but there were too many little problems for the price. Burnt out light bulb, toilet handle falling off, tiny room, saggy mattress. Small & basic breakfast. The outdoor hot tub is a plus. likely the best in this... More

This hotel was small, charming and character filled, which is to be expected as the oldest hotel in Iceland. We received a very warm welcome and had a large corner room which was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and the espresso machine helped a LOT! Would stay again. As we stayed out of season the small cute bar down... More

We reserved a superior room and it was very large. Double bed at each end, lounge area, writing bureau, tv unit, shower/wc, and still room to wander. Not cheap - but priced less than here in the UK for similar - and not excessive for what we got. I wasn't disappointed. The room had lots of charachter, but the view... More

We used the Hotel Tindastoll as a stopping-over-point as we made our way from Akureryi to Budir. The history of the building is evident, well-preserved, and a selling point. Our room was clean, but looked like it had been looted: only 1 wine glass, no mini-bar where one clearly was before, a random water-boiler shoved in a closet with no... More

A great hotel, although not with all the modern conveniences it is appreciated for the clear and warm style. Davide & Danica More

Spent one night here during our 4x4 tour around Iceland. This is a very small hotel and full of character. Our room was in the eaves and very quaint. Hotel has no restaurant but they booked us a table at a local one, 2 mins walk away called Olafshus which was very good. For one night we enjoyed our stay... More
