On our vacation/ anniversary trip to Redding, California we decided to take a trip in and around Mount Lassen Volcanic Park. It’s possible to start in Redding and travel to the park area or go to the Red bluff area and travel that way. We decided to travel from highway 36 in Red Bluff and make a counterclockwise trip which... More

The family that run Lassen Mineral Lodge are so friendly and chatty, it's impossible not to like this place. Its much closer than any other accommodation in the area. You are limited to their restaurant unless you fancy a drive but this isn't a problem as the food is good and the mineral lodge ale isn't too bad either. More

Rooms are pretty basic, made up for by the peaceful location and great meals for dinner and breakfast at the onsite restaurant in this family-owned hotel and store. A great base to explore Lassen NP. More

We stayed there two nights due to its proximity to Lassen National Park. It was close to the park and a good location. The room was clean and fairly large (we paid a bit extra for the larger style room). We did not eat in the restaurant, a mini fridge was in the room which was a nice surprise. There... More

We had concerns after reading some of the reviews on this board, but the 2-night stay turned out to be a wonderful experience. The bedding is clean, comfortable (we brought our own sheets, but we didn't use them). The bathroom facility is clean, adequate with hot shower. The furniture is old, but they serve basic needs. We ate one dinner... More

We drove here from Ahwahnee (south of Yosemite) in a day and arrived tired but really excited by the trip. Mineral Lodge is a one off, quite old fashioned but a real experience with it's saloon, shop, restaurant and gift shop. Our room was very comfortable, clean and quirky! I have never stayed anywhere with a giant draughts board set... More

Our family of 5 enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Lassen Mineral Lodge Restaurant after visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park. This is a very family friendly restaurant with a good children's menu in addition to menu selections grown-ups will enjoy. Many different beer and wine offerings from the bar also. Highly recommend: the Spicy Buffalo Chicken Salad, a great combo... More

Two night stay in late July. The restaurant (only place to eat) was fine-a bit pricey but the food was OK. The store is overpriced. It was the room that really was the turn off. The carpet in front of the sink was constantly wet, there was no door to the shower and the curtain was ripped. The place smelled... More

Plusses - Proximity to Lassen National Volcanic Park. Minuses - General run-down condition of cramped room, inadequate hot water for showering, bathroom sink drain would not hold water, inadequate room temperature control. As a result, room was considerably over-priced at roughly $100 per night. By plan, only stayed one night...would likely have been looking for a different hotel/motel if multi-night... More

On the plus side: 1: The only place to stay in Mineral 2. The restaurant had excellent food 3: Nice front porch with a good view of the mountains to the south On the minus side: 1. Room and furnishing looked old and tired, like they'd been there for 50 years. Curtain rod fell down when i tried to pull... More
