Upon arrival....the place looks worse then in the photos on hotel sites. The room we were given smelt and was over 80 degrees. The thermostat was broken and we couldn't open the windows for air due to the fact of the loud noise from the highway right next door ! The other people staying at the Inn were obviously doing drugs or lower end citizens. We figured that for the price it wouldn't be amazing but it would be atleast tolerable. It wasn't ! The room like I said stunk....the fridge had old rotten food in it....the shower was dirty...and the TV doesn't have any good channels such as discovery or food network ...or even the history channel. Yet online it says the hotel has premium channels ! If you are on the first or second floor you will have a bad night...you can here people walking right above you...good luck sleeping ! The wifi was also worthless and slow. I've stayed at cheaper hotels and bad looking hotels...but nothing is comparable to this place. It is an absolute disgrace to have something this pathetic in a beautiful state or even location. Should be demolished. The owner should be ashamed. Pathetic.

Not a great place, not a horrible place. Very dark, shower acceptable. Bed decent. I'm not picky, low maintenance. A place to lay your head for a night. The one thing that irritated me a lot was their choice of taxi!! I told the driver where I needed to go and I felt he was trying to milk more money out of me by taking me the long way, not to mention he dropped me off at the wrong place. What a joke!! I had to run three blocks to the right place to get the bus to Denalli. Imagine that!! I told him exactly where I needed to go, and he drops me at the wrong place, I think on purpose. Parkwood Inn, PLEASE choose different taxis to take your guests!!!!

It was the most nastiest place I have ever seen.the bathroom was gross of gross. Furniture was old and trashy looks like they got it out of the dump.hair all in the bed linens, the bathroom.walls where filthy. The floors where sticky and dirty and the reddish carpet was black.the entire room was filthy, nasty gross. I would not even let my dog get a room there. The housekeepers need to be shown how to clean. I would be ashamed of this place if I was the owner. Straight up nasty. The cockroach motel is cleaner. The smell was horrible rotten fish has nothing on this hotel.

We apologize for your experience staying with us. If you could please provide us the room number to triple check the room you stayed in that would be appreciated. If you decide to try us again, we could definitely work out a discounted rate and ensure your stay would be satisfactory. There are rooms being renovated at this time as well as upgrading furniture, we will look at your review very seriously to bring our customers the home away from home experience. Thank you for your input.

It was not our intent to stay in Anchorage but something changed our camping plans and we ended up looking for a motel relatively late at night. Just about everything was booked up so we were directed to check Parkwood Inn. The front desk person was very friendly and helpful. Our room was big and comfortable and had a full kitchen. There was laundry machines in the basement but most of them did not work. Our room did not have an air conditioning so we would have to open the patio door for a few minutes to let cool air in and when the traffic noise would get to be too much, we would close it and get warm again! This is an OK motel but it definitely could use a little work to bring it up to more modern standards. For what it was, i think the price was a bit too high.

We still have 3 days in Anchorage to do some shopping and sightseeing before flying back home. We haven't seen the city yet. We only have an overnight stay in Anchorage the day we arrived, the next morning we took off far away from the city. We need a place to stay with parking. Park Wood Inn is located off the center. The shopping area is nearby. Restaurants/bars are walking distance if no car. This motel we've booked a day before our trip, a last minute deal from Expedia The motel reception is nice roomy and well organized. And it has a very friendly receptionist. She was on the phone when we arrived as soon as she hang-up was helping us immediately. We have all our accommodation booked three months before our trip by booking.com and everything was cancelable anytime that's the good thing by booking. But the motel we booked earlier by booking was too expensive. So we keep searching to the last minute deals, we have tried all the booking website just to find the cheapest one and this cost $89 plus tax per night We know Anchorage has plenty of accommodations to offer but looking to some place to stay with parking is not easy. We normally don't use other website except on booking.com but sometimes if no option then we use another website A day before our trip we found this motel by expedia.com a last minute deals. We booked a standard room. During check-in I ask the receptionist to have a room downstairs I saw the motel outside is in two storey building but I didn't know they have elevator. The lady said oh we do have elevator so is not a problem to have a room upstair I said to her we have two big suitcase and a small one and we need to re-packed. We have our flight back home within two day. So if we can have a room on the ground floor we will be very happy (with a smile). And I didn't know that all standard rooms are upstairs I don't know what change her mind that she said, okay I'll give you a room on the ground floor a much better room than the one you booked I upgraded you. I said to her Wow thank you so much! that's very kind of you. We got extremely huge room. This is a first room we ever had in Alaska on a better price. Two king size bed, balcony, kitchen, living, and a luggage room. We're so glad we get a nice room on our last days in Alaska. A room that we ever have had during this trip with a kitchen although we didn't needed. This likely more a studio room or it is a studio We never used expedia.com, but during searching for car rentals in Alaska expedia quoted us cheaper rate than the others. So we've booked our car to Alamo via expedia. That way, we make an account to their website. Once you have an account, same as other sites, you'll bombarding buy deals and last minutes hotels which are worth to check sometimes if you need some place to stay

I booked this hotel for my husband and father for their last nights in Alaska for their fishing trip. Husband said this hotel is pretty bad. Door on the bathroom was busted, carpet stained, screws sticking out of door handle on main door, "locals" loitering about even thought the sign said " we do not rent to local ". Very dated, furniture ragged, kitchen cabinets dirty and stained inside. Room was sorta clean. Not hotel standard clean. Staff was friendly and attentive. And, they had a freezer they let us keep our fish in until we left. Not worth what was paid, by even half.

This place was so disgusting! It was on our list of hotels we could choose from through medicade and as the appt. out of town came in at the last minute we couldn't find anything else. We opened the door and knew right away that it wasn't going to be. The smell was horrible. Old, dirty and smoky smelling although it was a 'non' smoking room. House keeping came by and said they needed to bring more towels for us. The toilet was plugged up so I called front desk and am told maintenance is gone for the day. We go down to get a plunger and are told housekeeping has also left. They had not brought our towels. Front desk gives us a bath towel and a bath mat and tells us we can use the bath mat as a hand towel. We could not get the toilet to un clog and the bath mat/hand towel has what appears to be poop on it! We are moved to a different room. Open the door and it smells fresh and clean! Bedding looks newer and up to date. The toilet didn't work!! But we are able to flush it by opening the tank and pulling the chain. The lever had corroded and the chain couldn't be hooked onto it any more. Someone had tried to duck tape it on! Pull back covers on one of the beds and there are blood stains on the sheets and something else on the top sheet. Pull back covers on 2nd bed, it looks good. Sit on bed, it falls off its frame. We strip the beds and remake the non broken one with the better sheets but leave off bed spreads and crunchy blanket. Sit on newly made bed and it falls off the frame! WTH? We are afraid of what we will get if we change rooms again so we fix that bed. The t.v. did not work. We did not sleep that night! The noise from the neighbor hood was very loud all night and we just were not comfortable due to the dirty room we were in. I took pictures and will report to medicade about this. Sticky stuff on the curtains, kitchen was not usable to cook in! Couch was broken down, blankets were covered in cigarette burns as were the bedspreads and had rips through out. Register in one area was 'open' and had dirt and candy in it. Lights by bed were about to fall off the wall and only 1 had a light bulb in it. Lights by couch didn't work at all, t.v. didn't work, drawers were full of dirt and crumbs and who knows what all. Cabinets in kitchen were tore up. I will be letting medicade know that they should not pay these people a dime for this room! I have spoken with a medicade representative and this establishment will be taken off of the list.

I had to go to Anchorage and picked this place to get away from the regular hotels, plus it seemed like a better value compared to the high hotel prices. Way off, walls were paper thin, stained carpets, fridge would not shut, and the toilet water was always brown. Didn't help I was there on business and the couple next door were quite loud, you could hear their conversation, laughs, and everything. I am not a very fussy traveler but this was unacceptable. Staff was nice, did what they could given the circumstances.
