I chose this place because Frommers said it was a deal. It is one of the cheapest places you will find in anchorage but it was really not worth the trade off. We got a room with two double beds a kitchen and what was suppose to be a private bathroom. However our private bathroom was in the hallway and... More

We arrived late and were shown to a subterrainian room that had a mildew smell. The one window looked out upon a half section of corregated metal pipe !! The bathroom door actually scraped against the toilet when you opened or closed it. On the plus side, the linens were fresh and clean and the young woman who shuttled us... More

Good, quick shuttle service. Great location downtown, just a short walk to basically anywhere downtown. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. In conclusion, if you're on a budget and just need a place to spend the night, this bed and breakfast is good. More

Great location and very clean. Helpful hosts. Older building and modest furnishings. Good breakfast. Very close to the coastal trail along Cook Inlet. Shuttle service was very flexible for us! More

We found this hotel in "Alaska For Dummies" which said it was very "quaint". In fact, it was a DUMP! We were the real dummies for booking it. Even though we booked months in advance, we were given a basement room which had no windows, filthy carpeting, bedlinens that looked unchanged from the previous guests, disgusting bathroom. All this for... More

My mother and I booked three nights at the Caribou Inn during August of 2007. We had read a decent review in a tour book (what were they thinking?) and thought the rooms looked OK on the website. The price and the location were attractive to us, especially because Anchorage is so expensive. We also liked the fact that they... More

This is an unfortunate situation for these travelers. Our potential guest had the opportunity to cancel 7 days prior to the original reservation date but cancelled the day of. We send out a confirmation letter to them regarding simple policies and it is stated on our website, or there would be a charge. Unfortunately, we were not able to re-rent... More

Smelled like wet Caribou and Cigarettes. We felt unsafe here-doors open all night. Nasty carpet- old drapes- musty Very uncomfortable feeling from the owners Noisy corner.. hard to sleep at night. Not worth saving our money. We tried to change hotels everything else was booked. Camping on the beach would have been better. Do not listen to Frommers on this... More

I hate noisy hotels, so I have to rate the Caribou Inn as "terrible". Yeah, it's kind of shabby, but that would have been fine if I could have slept at night, but with all the traffic going by, that was impossible. More

My husband and I stayed at the Caribou Inn for 2 nights. They provide a shuttle to the airport and train station, as well as free parking. The room was adequate. We had a basement room, which meant the long Alaska days did not keep us from sleeping. I noticed they changed the linens every day, and vaccuumed. For breakfast... More

High season in Alaska, lodging is expensive. That makes Caribou Inn appear to be a deal. I think we paid $60 (before tax) for our night here. We learned of this place from one of the Alaska travel guide books. I wish I could remember which one. It is not an exaageration to say, however, that we might have gotten... More
