Great location in downtown Anchorage. Walk everywhere. One block to metro. Good home base. Helpful staff, especially Peter. Two free computers for guests to use. Clean facilities. Comfortable beds and crisp,clean linens. Good experience. more

This is a great place, but I will add at least one caution so that I'm not overly biased on AIH's behalf. You'll be sharing a space with others, some very unique and interesting people. This hostel is no longer affiliated with Hostelling International. Their cleanliness has gone way down hill, and the whole place is basically falling apart. No doors have a lock... not the dorm rooms, not the hallways, not even the toilets! When the hostel is open, people can come and go as they wish -- even non hostel guests. Avoid this... more
