There is a lot of history with this hotel. As we returned to the hotel after dinner there was a man in a top hat leading a tour titled "Ghosts of Anchorage". He was telling his couple dozen tour members about Sydney Laurence, maybe one of the most famous Alaska artists. I will leave it up to you to look... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Historic Anchorage Hotel and the location is wonderful! Close to the outdoor weekend market, running trails, and restaurants. We enjoyed being able to walk to places downtown. More

Quite a pleasant hotel with a great location downtown. Everything in downtown is in walking distance. The room was clean and had Wifi access. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was sufficient - not much choice - but at least included in the room rate; great if you enjoy waffles. More

'we were in the corner room on the second floor, #201. It is right above a gift shop that stays open until 11 pm so the people talking while passing in and out as well as standing in front were very distracting. There is no A/C so the windows had to be open and the floor fan that did not... More

I really liked this hotel for service, location, and convienience. The drawback was the ambient noise. Our room was just one level up from a very a busy street. There was so much street noise that even as a generally very sound sleeper, I could not fall asleep until after 3 am when things finally settled down some. It was... More

The hotel has good service and a nice atmosphere. We'd stay here again. Convenient to downtown, including the museum and the weekend market. More

Our room was lovely with 2 double beds, but not very large, it was adequate though. It was clean and very comfortable. There was free wireless in our room which was a bonus. We had a room that faced onto the street front so it was very noisy especially on the thursday night. We were greeted with hot chocolate chippie... More

Generally, this is a good hotel and with free breakfast that makes it a very good deal in Alaska. However, if you can't stand noises then go find another hotel. My room was facing the bear square and it was noisy on a saturday night that you wouldn't be able to fall to sleep. And if you do stay in... More

Dear Great Bear 77: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Happy to hear you find our hotel nice, with a free breakfast and a good "Alaskan deal". We are working closely with the city on the noise issues we are experiencing downtown. Anchorage does have a noise ordinance and it has been a tough battle. We... More
