This old hotel has probably seen better (and more prosperous) days, but it still retains its 18th century charm, though it has been updated over the years. Located on the main road through town with a large public car park outside plus a secure lockup below, too, it's handily placed for walks around the old town & trips to the... More

We've stayed here twice now, once on a cycling tour and once while travelling by car to Italy. The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable, some with good views of the Abbey. We also dined in the restaurant and particularly enjoyed the "Poulet de Bresse". A "digestif" was offered and gratefully accepted - all in all a very good experience.

We stayed here on our trip back from mallorca and were so happy to be received by Metin (Meteen)who was so helpful and friendly. It makes such a difference. We had the room with the Abbey view and had a restful night. Dined in the restaurant and chose the 23euro and 32 menus.which were good value. (My wife always has... More

Poor reviews from 2009 and earlier can be disregarded, as the hotel has changed ownership since then. What a difference! Gone are the tired carpets and peeling wallpaper, and best of all, gone are the indifferent and rude management staff. Rooms were clean and well furnished, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom looked almost like new. Service in the restaurant... More

We took a superior room for 76 euro and the room was big, bed was good, toilet and bathroom spacious, however because of the rain we stayed for dinner and that was a mistake tasteless boiled famous chicken, not backed as shown on the menu, so was the breakfast, unorganized, they ran out of bread, croissants at 9 o'clock, the... Small family owned hotel that we stayed in for one night. The rooms were very clean with old world charm; beautiful old parquet floors and build in wardrobe. The bathroom had a very large new tub which was much appreciated. The hotel is on a busy road which can be noisy if the windows are open. Breakfast was more than... More

This hotel is a perfect choice for those on their way to or from Southern France, driving the "Autoroute du Soleil". It's located just 3 mins. from the highway thus not difficult to find. Prices are good and the standard is perfectly OK. It's not a "posh" hotel but a decent mid class hotel with nice staff. Parking is provided... More

Bad service at restaurant, waiting for more than half an hour for the menu. We were charged for 15 euro's to much next to the 3,75 they charge for half à bottle of water. No apology at all. In the morning light I say that the electric wiring was lose in the hall. And the orange juice was half juice,... More

We were absolutely horrified at the meal at this hotel. Half of the items on the menu were off and those that were on were very basic and no different - in fact worse - than one would prepare at home. The service was appalling - no aperitifs offered, and great surprise when we asked for one, staff obviously not... More

The main railway line runs through the town, Sauvage is opposite the line. If your room is at the front of the hotel, overlooking the car park and line, you will not sleep, but a good night's sleep can be had if the room is at the back of the hotel. We stay there quite often as we drive up... More
