I have been to the waterfront lodge several times over the years and have enjoyed my stay each and every time. Arlene and Greg welcome us with open arms and a huge smile. They offer grills and a beautiful side yard with a fire pit for grilling. Huge full hot breakfast every morning. Coffee in the room. The view is... more

The location of Seward is amazing and this seaside motel is very good. with all services you need: microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker in room, and also free wireless. The owner is very very nice and offers to you a good custom breakfast at preferred time in the morning. Just the price is very expensive: 150 $ for a simply... more

The Innkeeper described room as Deluxe. We were shocked at the disgusting room...dirty, smelly, sagging mattresses, bathroom was up several steps and appeared old and dirty. There was a street and campers between the room and the water's edge. Not a good view. The room appeared to be a converted garage of many years ago. A large For Sale sign... more

We had only planned to stay one night at Seward's Waterfront Lodge, the night prior to a day cruise. But, we ended up booking another night. We were warmly welcomed by Greg and Arlene Carpenter and their St. Bernard, Glacier. The name of the lodge is very appropriate, as it is located overlooking Resurrection Bay. Downtown shops and resturants are... more

Just happened to stumble upon this cozy little place looking for a place to lay our heads, frustrated at all the cookie cutter hotels being sold out. We were very fortunate to have found it. We ended up staying 3 nights. Owners Greg and Arlene were so warm and friendly. The view was magnificent from the solarium. Breakfast is served... more

We loved our stay with Seward Waterfront lodge. The location is perfect and its very much close to Seward Sealife Centre. We stayed in one of the 2 rooms which overlook the beautiful scenery of Seward. The room is clean and cosy. Greg and Arlene are wonderful hosts. They are very friendly and helpful and gave us good trip suggestions.... more

Because the Innkeepers are friendly and helpful, and because of its wonderful waterfront location it pains me to report how poor the accommodations are at this B&B. Several of the rooms (including the one we rented) are in the basement of this house and that is exactly how it looks, feels and smells. The guest room door was fashioned from... more

Management response from
Arlene Carpenter, Owner

We would like to respond to this review of our establishment. While our facility is considered very confortable to the vast majority of our customers (as testified to in our guestbook), occaisionally a guest may not find our accommodations comparable to a large hotel chain. Our sincere intent is to provide a clean, comfortable, and functional room to our guests...

This bed and breakfast is run by a charming couple and is in a perfect location--on the waterfront adjacent to the Sea Life Center. There were a few concerns however. Our room smelled more like a grandmother's basement than a clean and fresh hotel room. The other problem is that the two mornings I ate breakfast there I found hair... more
