First off the Alpenblume is not sold as a 4 or 5 star hotel, so dont expect that level of comfort/service. We are regulars to Obergurgl and generally stay at the Bellevue. Having said that, we have recently spent a fantastic week in the Alpenblume. There was 4 adults and 1 child, and the hotel and facilities are perfect. The... More

The hotel is a chalet style hotel set about 50m off the main through road from Hochgurgl. It is perfectly located for the slopes and is only a 200m walk to the nearest slope. A tip would be to avoid going to the nearby slope on the first day as everyone heads off from there having dropped the children off... More

Overall this was a disappointing stay for the following reasons:- 1. Room allocated was not the room booked and paid for, apparently according to the chalet host this was a miscommunication between our agent (igluski) and esprit. We as the customer had to suffer a small room for which we did not expect and had paid extra for a larger... More

The guests booked through a travel agent (Iglu) and booked a standard triple room and this is exactly what the guests received.Larger suites in the new wing of this property are available for an additional supplement. Despite this our staff did help by allowing the guests to use a neighbouring room at no extra cost. We were not advised of... More

as a first time Esprit user with children of 21 months and 4 years old I cannot rate this chalet, its staff and service highly enough. For child care it was almost like our skiing holidays pre-children giving us not only plenty of time as 'a couple' to ski and enjoy the resort but with the added bonus of watching... More

Expect bad food, particularly for the children. Ensure you give the kids great, healthy snacks as their lunch is not sufficient to see them through an afternoon of skiing. It is nursery food which left the older ones starving. However, there is fabulous, affordable food throughout the resort so it is easy to top up. The staff are extremely hard... More

We travelled over new year to Chalet Alpenblume with Esprit. This chalet suffers from not being considered a chalet hotel by Esprit, and therefore worthy of extra staff and a manager, but being too big to be run like a chalet. It was staffed by extremely hardworking but very young staff doing their first season who were doing their best... More

We travelled as a family of 6 but with a group of 16. I have skied extensively over the last 30 years and stayed in many chalets. I have always had a good food experience but this was DIRE! Despite complaints to the resort staff we were told the chef had walked out the week before and Esprit couldnt supply... More

The Alpenblume is ran by SkiEsprit - I would highly recommend this company. Rooms in the new wing are a cut above the rest of the chalet but everywhere was clean. The old rooms need an upgrade. SkiEsprit staff are wonderful - you pay for the privilege of wonderful childcare, yes, but I doubt the staff see a lot of... More

We stayed at the Alpenblume in the second week of Jan for our family ski holiday. Like everyone else in the chalet we were travelling with Esprit ski who cater specifically for families. We had a really fantastic week, and once again could not fault the Esprit ski staff or the childcare. Both children were fantastically looked after (one in... More
