St. Gilgen is a lovely little alps town. Not far from Salzburg and Halstatt. Great day trips and also fun to just wander around the town. A nice couple of days respite from Vienna. The hotel is family run and so very friendly. Lovely rooms and a very good breakfast.

Loved the town, very charming place. The hotel was ok, the owner was a lovely women, very nice. The only thing I did not like was the breakfast offered, it was horrible. One of the worst I've ever had. Very limited selection, tepid hard boiled eggs instead of warm soft boiled. A real let down.
