Stayed there for a three day weekend and was very pleased. A friend and I drove down for a guys weekend and each of us had our own room. Both rooms were very clean, furnished with antique furniture. I have stayed in a number of places in New Orleans in this price range and the St Peter House rates pretty low. The location is great, as is the exterior and the courtyards, but my poor filthy room was just sad. My sheets were as thin as tissues and the cigarette holes in the pillow cases were certainly unappealing.... more

As my friend and I put it nicely its "European". The price was right during Jazz fest. And the sheets and towels were clean. But the room sure needed a good scrubbing (including the shower curtain with blood on it). If you want a predictable, standard hotel room with matching curtains, funishings, child-friendly - don't stay here. St Peter House is beautiful. The rooms we had were quiet and secluded. The staff were awesome and kind. They let me downgrade my room at the last minute because not everybody in our party got to go, let us check in hours early so that we could clean up before a meeting, and even rushed to get us clean... more
