Great location - close to Bourbon Street. Service was spotty. Bell staff was great, everyone else - from the General Manager to the front desk staff to the restaurant staff didn't seem to care about my needs at all. Attended a convention and while staffing a trade show booth all day, called to obtain an internet connection to do email... More

On the edge of the French Quarter, this hotel is a typical Marriott, which I guess means no in-room safe, no mini-fridge and not much maid service. It's very noisy but typical for the French Quarter. I heard every passing band, siren, argument, and slamming door. I did find the staff extremely helpful, particularly the Concierge and the front desk.... More

Were there for a convention with a negotiated rate ($199), which was still a bit high. Decent location (on the edge of the French Quarter), but the hotel itself was so-so. And really -- the only glasses in the room were plastic -- no glass at all (except thru room service). Completely undistinguished hotel, in all respects. (Extra irritant: room... More

We stayed in the New Orleans Marriot the night before we embarked on a 7-day Carribean cruise. In fact, we booked the hotel through Royal Carribean. We arrived in New Orleans at about 10:30 AM and got to the hotel expecting to ask them if they could store our bags until check. We were pleasently suprised, however, to learn our... More

I stayed at the Marriott for a company meeting last week and can't say enough about this hotel--and I'm not an easy customer. I must start with the best part--the staff. From the banquet and event staff to the bell captain, and from the front desk to the contracted technical support staff, everyone was exceedingly helpful and courteous and went... More

Okay, so I was here for a convention and you cannot put up 3000 people at the local B&Bs. but when you wander around town and look at the local hotels and B&B's, you wonder, why did I just spend $200+ a night to stay in a clone of the Marriott I stayed in in Chicago, when the alternatives were... The location is excellent. You can walk to all the great parts of New Orleans. The hotel itself was fine - nothing to write home about but nothing bad. I'd stay there again if the price was right. If not, I'd just as quickly stay elsewhere int he area. More

So glad we chose to stay at the Marriott on Canal. It's within walking distance to everything. The BEST thing about this hotel is the staff. EVERYONE from the moment we got in was so friendly and helpful. Even the hotel operators were great. Hands down Marriott on Canal has some of the best customer service I've experienced in a... More

When I reserved the room I requested a higher floor with a view. When we arrived the room was on the 14th floor (low in a 40 storey building) and faced the other tower. However, I upgraded to a corner room for $30 - and got a fantastic view of the river and downtown. I believe that the standard rooms... More

We stayed here for free for husband's work trip. Location was wonderful as we were walking distance to great restaurants and shops. And Bourbon Street is walking distance as well. Staff could have been friendlier and more helpful during check-in. They ran out of king beds so that was annoying but staff just wasn't friendly about it. I requested a... More
