Charming architectural detail and fairly cheap, but i felt like i should pitch in and try to clean the place up. I. The bathroom floor was scuzzy. At first i thought old stains, but they did clean up if wiped with a wet tissue- apparently no-one has thought to try. My socks got gray just from walking on carpet. You... more

The place was filthy, nothing like the photos! Our party of 6 had booked weeks in advance and our suite only had 4 beds. They made us pay extra for a room for 2 extra, but next day after a row and complaint, agreed to refund the extra and provide a room for 6 as booked. Wardrobes wouldn't shut and... more

My friend and I are former residents of New Orleans, come back as often as we can, and have stayed here two times so far. We love the location and the nearby coffee houses, restaurants (Praline Connection), and music, plus the proximity to the Quarter. However, try to avoid Room M9 the annex. It's dark, right up against an abandoned... more

This hotel was very different and quaint, but if you cannot climb stairs - don't book this place. The registration/front desk is up a long staircase. No other way to get there. The antiques in the house were beautiful, but at the same time the bed creeked everytime you moved. The bathroom was so tiny it was almost unusable. The... more

We appreciate your honesty and would love to have you again. Please note that you can request a first floor room upon making a reservation. This is an old house so to install a modern day elevator would take away from its historic value. Thanks again for staying and we hope to see you soon!

I love funky old hotels. I enjoy the wooden floors, high ceilings and antique furniture. It was great being in a room off a courtyard pool. I don't need my bed turned down or chocolates on my pillow. What I do require is cleanliness. My room had a shower that took over night to drain. This wouldn't have been a... more

This guest informed the front desk staff of their wonderful stay at check out. In addition to having a wonderful stay, at check out, they thought there bill would be lower than what was signed to. Guests often misunderstand average nightly rates compared to actual rates with actual dates when booking online. The guest was over excited about the "age"...

I did not expect a five star experience at this hotel. But I also did not expect a room that had not been cleaned upon checkin. The staff did eventually clean the room, but when they left the bottom of the tub was still black. Then while searching for a New Orleans phone book, I found mouse droppings in the... more

After investigating this guest's claim we had our pest company come in to inspect the room and found that there were actually NO bed bugs in the room or around the room. Orkin Pest Control regularly comes out to inspect and service our rooms. It is in their professional opinion which we have signed and documented that there were "no...

Great place. Just yards from Bourbon street in french quarter but it is in the wrong end of Bourbon street. Never the less, its only a 10 minute walk from where all the action is. Room and bathroom was clean enough. Got your average american motel breakfast. One nice thing though was that everyone sat together for breakfast at a... more

We appreciate your review. We want to inform all guests that parking is in the rear and NOT blocks away as some people have tried to imply. We also enjoy talks at the breakfast table in the morning. We will take all your suggestions into consideration and look forward to you visiting us again.

Here's the thing: I'm a NOLA afficionado, and there's much I appreciate about Lamothe for its authenticity. Someone called it "faded elegance," and I love that romantic quality of the hotel. Fifteen-ft ceilings, hardwood floors, antique furnishings -- lovely. But as I sit here with bed bug bites -- yes, bed bugs, which I captured and presented to the front... more

Ok so I have to start off in saying that because I gave this review a 5 star DOES NOT mean it's a five star hotel!!! If that's what you are looking for, you will only be disappointed and be prepared to spend your life savings on a hotel room. Trust me - my friend and I looked for weeks... more

First let me say that if I hadnt been the type to make my own way, we couldve missed out on one of the finest gems in New Orleans!!! I traveled with a group of friends to New Orleans for the Essence Festival. We were looking to stay in a place without all the hustle and bustle of a chain... more
