I would have given this hotel a higher review, but can't because of the noise. The hotel is located next to business with an outdoor courtyard that rents the space out for parties. The music is so loud that you have to raise your voice to talk to other people inside your room, and ours was an interior room. In... More

Thank you for visiting New Orleans along with Hotel St. Helene. I am sorry that you found St. Helene noisy. This is actually the first time we have had this complaint. You are correct the Napoleon House which is a restaurant is located just next door to us. With Hotel St. Helene being directly in the heart of the French... More

What a beautiful quaint hotel. We had the room right off the courtyard with direct access to the pool. Best room in the house... Just beautiful! Rooms are nicely renovated and charming. The staff was amazing. A special mention for Derek. He was so helpful and accommodating. Gave us great tips and always a smile on his face. Thank you... More

The St. Helen is a nice hotel built in what appears to be a refurbished New Orleans townhouse. It has a cute patio in the back which contains a very small pool. We did not get in the pool, but it does make a nice feature. The rooms are decorated in a harsh, black and white style, but the beds... More

The location was fantastic - the staff was very cordial, but the room itself was just adequate. I had read the review about paint fumes, but since that was back in Feb., I wasn't even concerned - but the fumes still lingered in mid-April. Coffee and hot water for tea was available in the am and kept refilled through the... More

Yes, Hotel St. Helene is an old historic building which has been renovated. Our decor throughout the rooms of St. Helene are modern with black and white tones. All of the rooms feature black and white photos of local musicians along with black ebony hard wood flooring. Some of our rooms have balconies over looking Chartes street and some other... More

Booked in at short notice after reading a good review, balcony, swimming pool etc. Got there to find the pool was more like a well at the bottom of a brick courtyard. The first room offered had no windows, let alone a balcony. Asked to cancel to find somewhere better, told full fee would be forefeited. Got offered a different... More

Just returned today after a week in the wonderful city of New Orleans. We were lucky to get a room at the St Helenes during the French Quarter Music Festvial. For the rates it is a great value if you don't expect the perks of a luxury hotel. It is a simple room with the basics necessary to sleep nights... More

Overall, we had a good stay at Hotel St. Helene -- neat rooms, comfortable beds, and great location -- two blocks from Bourbon, so close enough to enjoy the action, but far enough to get a good, quiet night's sleep. Staff was super friendly as well. Now for the negatives. The hotel was lacking in the "little things" department. We... More

We stayed at the St Helen over Easter Weekend 2012 and found the old hotel Nice in some areas and lacking in some. The positives were the location being just two blocks from Bourbon street and all the noise. Just a short walk from Jackson Sq. The location was quite except for the garbage trucks early in the morning. The... More

First off let me say, if I would have listened to all the bad reviews that I read of this hotel, my husband and I would have missed out on an awesome hotel. We stayed here from Wednesday February 22 to Sunday 26, the days right after Mardi Gras. We arrived to the Quarter at about one in the afternoon,... More

Hotel St. Helene is in the perfect spot for visiting New Orleans. In the French Quarter, but not in Bourbon Street, so not noisy. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were newly renovated by the looks. If there was any negative: I would have to say the walls are thin and you can hear "everything". But a... More
