Our experience was second to none. The inn is just beautiful and the location is great. Each morning we were treated with a wonderful breakfast served in courses at just the right time. The relaxed atmosphere allowed us to make the most of our weekend. The cab service suggested by the owner was quick to respond and only $7.00. Next... More

We loved our stay with Peter, Walter, and Akko! We were in town for a convention and after comparing prices at convention hotels we decided that it would be more economical to stay at the Five Continents - even with the additional parking expense. We stayed in the North American cottage and it was wonderful. It was very quiet, the... More

Petr has changed very little from what Jess did to make Five Continents such a special place. He added a sweet dog, and has modified the breakfast offerings in terms of variety, but not quality. Each morning we were given a tasty and hearty breakfast. We have always stayed in the cottage before, but stayed in the Eurasian Suite this... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. It was great having you all back at the Five Continents, and I am glad that I've been able to maintain the fine traditions of the house from Jess. So sorry we couldn't have the Saints win. I'm still sad about it. Hope to see you again soon. More

We made reservations with Jess and were more than a little suprised to learn upon check in that Peter was the new owner. Nothing about a change of ownership was mentioned to us between the time we booked our accomodations and when we arrived. Like other couples we had made our choice based largely in part due to the great... More

Dear Larry M Thanks for your review. I'm glad that you all had a good stay. You all were among several guests who booked the room with Jess and found me as the new owner when you arrived. Jess set it up so that there would be a seamless transition between him and me, and it was very successful. Unfortunately... More

As noted in a previous review, Jess has retired and Peter now owns Five Continents. We chose this B&B solely on the reviews on Tripadvisor. It did not disappoint. Peter is indeed "catching" on and he was an excellent host. The breakfast each morning was nothing short of great (I can't compare it to what I've read about Jess' cooking).... More

We selected this B&B based solely on the reviews seen here: TripAdvisor members were raving, especially about its fabulous owner Jess, and we figured we couldn't go wrong. So naturally we were disappointed to learn upon checking in that, well, Jess was no longer the owner; Peter was, as of a week ago. Say what?! We felt blindsided; the whole... More

I've always been a little skeptical of B&Bs because I like my privacy and anonymity when I travel, but this was a great experience, and I'd definitely recommend it to others - especially if you are coming to New Orleans for Jazz Fest or Voodoo Fest. We stayed in the North America Suite which is a separate building behind the... More

The accomodations were beautiful, a real oasis in the chaos that is New Orleans. Jess is very knowledgable and more than eager to share that with his guests. His breakfasts are legendary. He knows all the shops, bars, restaurants, and hidden treasures of New Orleans. He loves this city and it shows. If you stay in the cottage, beware the... More

Jess is a terrific host. Our room was lovely with a good separate seating area. The house is wonderfully maintained and filled with interesting antiques and artworks. Nothing was too much trouble for Jess. He offered many suggestions for restaurants tours and sightseeing. He also helped us complete online check-in and printed of boarding passes. His breakfasts were outstanding and he... More

This lovely owner-operated B&B is not located in the heart of the french quarter, and that's a good thing. it's about a 15 minute walk along Esplanade Avenue down to the main attractions, and owner Jess Beatty has oodles of recommendations for food/bars/music all over town. While it's a healthy trip back on foot you can always take a cab,... More
